Cheaper is not always better. If your business is working well, and you are presented with a cheaper option for something, it MAY be worth considering. But you have to ask yourself, what is the downside? Could this interrupt my business?
In this case, there is a time value on these items. If 2 weeks of sales are lost, that is lost profit you will never get back. So, in this case, the OP saved himself $40 on the shipping cost, but lost - probably - much more than that in lost sales.
My grandmother always used to say, "sometimes cheap is dear".
This could apply to anything...
Cheaper ink or toner that destroys your printer.
Cheaper paper that jams in your printer.
A cheaper supplier, but the goods are low quality and you have to deal with lots of negative feedback and customer complaints.
Cheaper insurance that makes it nearly impossible to file a claim.
etc... |
