being in customs is a normal process for imports, is it being held by customs?

Normally it never happened. In the past, on dhl website it was showing that the package with customs processed in 1 day and next day by my door. But now it was saying to call dhl and it is already third day.

p.s. it doesn't say held in customs. it just say call dhl and when i call them that is when I found out it is in customs.

If it has been there for 3 days and it is asking you to contact DHL then 99.99999% your package has been seized.

I would call DHL. They MIGHT just need some information or an invoice to process the order. Play dumb. If they say it has been seized, just pretend that you have no clue as to why and tell them you will call your supplier.

You might want to do that on a throwaway phone.

If " please contact DHL" displayed on the tracking ,Your package might have been seized by custom or you need to provide more documents to clear custom.

In a word,it is not a good news.

If the items were "questionable" then yeah as stated above 99.99999% they are seized forget about it, start the process of either getting a refund or working out a deal with your supplier. In most cases with a good supplier they will reship 100% of the goods lost in seizure as they should.

You should start the refund or reship process now better then later and don't let them delay. Be firm make them reship ASAP or get a refund. In the future for smaller orders under 50lbs use EMS it's way better and your items won't get seized. In fact I have disregarded DHL completely too may problems with DHL on my experience.

Its amazing Jamblix hearing someone elses point of view, as EMS for me has caused nothing but problems.

DHL has never caused me any problems at all especially as the only items I imported were VeRo

I could be wrong, but it sounds like it's UK members that have good experiences with DHL. US members EMS is better option.

Like everyone says if your package has been there more for more than a couple days its most likely sized. Tell your supplier to ship you another one as this is not your fault.

I've had nothing but good fortune with no seizures the past 2 1/2 years using DHL. I did have one hiccup at local DHL after process clearance in Cincy. My 5 large packages filled with vero were 'on hold' for almost three weeks.

Then one day I get home and roomate had signed for all 5 almost blocking the front door. Happy times indeed. Customs from my local DHL did open all up and replaced with green tape. Not sure what they were looking for, but it worked out.
