Default International Shipments?

Hey all.

I find the prices on international shipping from the U.S.A ridiculous. I sent something back to China, a return, and the cheapest option I could find with tracking was $39.

The package was under 2 LBS. and under 12 inches on all dimensions. I shipped it the slowest possible way, and it still cost $39!

I also asked the price of tracking on a 2 OZ. letter. The cheapest available was $16?

I must be missing something?

How can I ship for cheaper internationally?

With tracking you can't. Even without tracking it has gotten so expensive I just quit shipping international myself.

I dont think you can unless 1) you ship LARGE quantities 2) you have a corporate account. Very tough for North America OUTBOUND international.

International shipping rates have increased haven't they? I know here in the UK our national carrier for Royal mail has gone up..suppose it's one of those things you have to bite your lip and kind of take

Pretty much kills the international market for me.

If an item I am selling is only worth 30 dollars, paying over 15 for shipping does not work out.

The non-understandable thing for sending a 2 Oz. item is that the shipping was between $2-3, but to add tracking it was + 13 more dollars. And this is the cheapest option.

So, Do you still sell internationally or just domestically? Seems like nothing can be made internationally with shipping.

There are solutions for this to get the cost down , shipping hubs, other couriers , usps can usually hook you up if you sell alot but there are always ways to work around normal prices.

I need a good cheap way to ship internationally as well. As the prices started going up, I had to stop international shipping.

What are some of these ways to work around the prices?

1.Postage Price Calculator Sometimes flatrate can be useful.
2.Google it (i dont mean to be rude but i simply cant write down 138.198.469.025 search results.
3. From my own experiance i know different sellers often ends up with different methods. For example: Im a big fan of Fedex and Dhl, i know other people that just hate them, i also deliver items myself sometimes.

I find it kind of funny, having a package that needs to go TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD for only $39. Sounds like a steal to me. Why not just pass the cost to ur customer ? I've done it a lot of times. You want it shipped to the other side of the world and you will pay? Then I will ship.

Yea, over the years I found I will ship to a few countries Priority Mail international without the tracking. Places I have never had a problem with. Otherwise normally I avoid it. Even though I really do hate missing out one sales. It just cots twice as much to ship as it did 5 or 6 years ago.
