Default USPS Priority Mail is improved?

I noticed that the labels I printed out for years always said priority mail. A few days ago it started saying 1-Day, 2-Day, 3-Day on them. I looked into it a bit more and supposedly the tracking is suppose to be better and there is suppose to be a "free" minimum insurance on $50 on most shipments.

If anyone else can fill me in on the details I would appreciate it. Haven't had a chance to talk to any postal workers about the changes.

There's also details on their site...

Just waiting for the forthcoming price increase for this "improved" service.

LOL - "Improved"

Did you see the youtube video of the post man tossing boxes into the truck from 10 feet away?

Amazing to know these people make on avg 80k per year, huge benefits, free health care, paid vacations and a crazy retirement fund.

They're equally bad

I vote the UPS driver as the worst. At least he knew the camera was there, gave the finger, and still threw the package...ugh!

Ah the perks of tossing out mail - it`s a sweet job to get because of that - I have caught postal workers napping too...didnt have the cameraphone at the time

I think the main improvement here is the more precise delivery estimates. At least, if they ARE precise. The downside would be if the buyer gets the estimate and the package arrives a day later - certainly that would be the seller's fault.

I ship all priority and the only change is the labels and the $50 insurance.

The packages always arrived between 1-3 days depending on location now they are just advertising it.

And with priority they don't guarantee the shipping time that they post on labels only express comes with guarantee

So it's basically a face lift and some marketing, USPS is in trouble so their tryin new things to improve sales

Would not help if USPS reuses tracking numbers (ref: http://www.aspkin.com/forums/shippin...tml#post474853).

Hopefully better new tracking number system

I believe that is a stamps.com issue. I have not run into that issue yet, nor any of the many sellers I collaborate with..
