UPS show: held in warehouse
 

the parcel is going to France, after showing : import scan , there is message show : held in warehouse.
usually when show : import scan ,that's mean custom has released the parcel, i don't know why came to this: held in warehouse.
anybody know what mean ? held by custom or something else ?

Held in in warehouse may mean an problem with paperwork, damage to packaging or worse.

UPS description: Held in Warehouse: UPS is holding the shipment per a contract service offering.

Customs have a problem with the item.

Maybe an issue with the paperwork. ( ? correct duty declared etc).

UPS do this heaps of times. Customs are the party delaying release.

a quick update for the issue:
after 6hr , UPS updated info: custom released the parcel and in transit.
it seems held in warehouse mean custom stopped the parcel and had a check.
GB was right, 9 out of 10 if custom stop a parcel,usually something wrong with paperwork.

I don't think you're in trouble Glacier. UPS is known to hold packages for a day or two if they arrive too quickly. I've never had an international UPS shipment reach USA in less than 4 days so I think that's what's going on. They could have run out of room on a plane and since your shipment from HK got here in one day decided it can wait for the next plane.

You can always call UPS to be sure. The tracking they see is a lot more detailed than the tracking we see.

Yea, I called them up and they said it was customs inspecting it. Usual message, could be up to 60 days. Let's just say these items were medium risk, never once had a problem with it. Let's just say for beats audio is like a 10 in risky, these items are like a 3.

Sorry to hear about your shipment. Our stuff is about a 3 on that same scale and I've only ever had one shipment inspected by customs, and it made it through surprisingly.

UPS is the worst.
I had sketchbooks held up for a month with my own label and not even close to anyones infringement and either a customs agent or a UPS worker themselves wrote in one of them and put "CLEARANCE"!

Oh ok I see. Well, today another day, still says held in wharehouse, I'll definitely keep this thread updated, not enough threads that go through the motions of the wait game.

Well, something was supposed to happen on Monday, it's Friday now and nothing, still in warehouse, no letter or nothing.

You could have a Certified letter on the way. Certified = Special service FC so it could take up to 5 days.

Just a guess but I wish you the best with your shipment either way.

What does fc stand for? I got one of those letters from Dhl directly before on another mailbox and I was like forget this box.

First Class.

My bad I thought that would be recognizable. Certified Mail is just a special service of First Class Mail.

Oh ok cool, I'm gonna definitely keep this thread alive for all the newbies so they can live through the seizing of packages. Maybe a bump every 24 hours or more until I get an answer!

Maybe, maybe not, they still said they checking it out. Up to 60 days, just bumping this thread to let other members experience the ups and downs of this thing.

I found this thread via a Google search. I'm not familiar with this forum but I wanted to jump on the wait train lead by glacier922.

I ordered something a few days ago and my package has been put into their warehouse for a 2nd time already. Not sure what is going on, UPS told me the customs are holding it for some unknown reason..

My current tracing statuses:

Just got my letter, they took it :-(

For what reason!? Mine has been cleared and is almost in The Netherlands, where it belongs! Hopefully the customs here wont bitch about it 😄
