Replying to Ebay Messages through Gmail No Longer Working

There was a thread 'bout this a few days ago but didnt get much response.

Its happening to all my accounts using gmail - yahoo and hotmail fine but gmail nothing, nada, which is a massive pain having tonlog into each account to reply to messages.

I use Safari with images turned off for email.

Any ideas?

Hello there, i had been trying to research into this too!! I think recently I had been having the same issue where replying from gmail no longer works????

Have you had any luck on this one?

I am now having to reply to all messages by clicking the reply button and then login ebay.. Whereas I could have just replied from gmail............ FCUK......

It definitely dosent work fine e2free - you must not of tested it for a few weeks.

I still havent gotten to the bottom if it, ebay CS useless and Google say its rbays issue, which im inclined to agree.

Proper nightmare this for running multiple accounts.

We reply over 50 emails per day and all goes through gmail

Totally fine for me as well so long as you reply from the correct Gmail

(just for people new to this by that I mean not a Gmail that all emails have been forwarded to. It needs to be the Gmail linked with the eBay)

Do you know if the buyer actually recieves the email you have sent? Have you done any test ones?

I replied for weeks thinking they went through, but they dint.

Tried three accounts over three different computers, all the original gmail on the ebay account - no messages go through

OP - are your forwarding all emails to one central email account, and responding from that?

You mentioned Yahoo/Hotmail are working. Perhaps try figure out when you hit the reply button if GMAIL is changing any of the contents of the email, i.e. Subject line etc. (in comparison to Hotmail/Yahoo).

If this is an issue, I would put it down to GMAIL trialling something with a small batch of accounts, which is causing your messages to be sent to eBay's system, but their system not being able to link it to an existing conversation/thread, and so the message doesn't get through to the buyer.

Something like this you'll need to suss yourself. eBay CS are not competent enough to answer such queries.

No i reply on each specific email account for each specific ebay account - no forwarding at all.

As i said worked fine for the past six years ive doing this! Only recently its not working and i havent changed anything.

Nothing is changed when you click send after using the reply box (you dont click reply in gmail).

This is like five different accounts. I strongly believe the other posters havent actuallt checked that there replies are actually getting through to be honest as it would be impossible fro google to do what you say but manage to target my accounts, all varied in age and sign up ip and location?

I have checked it myself... replied to a message from one stealth to another stealth so I can check both ends

Mine is the same, I have sent a few test emails and none of the ones sent from Gmail are getting through. They send fine if you send them directly from eBay. But that is obviously not ideal.
If anyone has found a solution please let me know.

This is fun - so im replying to james as I cant send PM's due to the 'admin' being retarded.

You were sending me bank statements for that **** account you sold me that failed. Two months ago now? You never sent them after countless attempts at me chasing you for them (similar to how the account was made to be honest, rough as **** with time frames that where never met). Then you never replied to PM's after that. Then I was made invisible - see the issue?

If this issue is affecting you and you can see no recourse from eBay nor GMAIL, then why not just open a Yahoo mail account, and start moving your eBay/PayPal accounts over?

Fine to reply via Yahoo Mail.

By default, Yahoo Mail automatically disable external images, so unless you've changed the settings, your good to go!
