 ⊗⊗⊗⊗ paypal transaction text message??
Earlier today, I purchased an item from ebay worth £460. Approx 6.44pm, i received a text message from number 62226 with the following:
Message as follows:
"
[PayPal] A - £460.00 GBP transaction with (sellers name) on 20 February 2018 was marked suspicious. Please reply "1" if authorised or "2" if not authorised."
I initially assumed it was from my bank so i replied with "1" . Then received following text.
"Paypal: Payment not completed. Invalid phone number or email. Try again. Only UK numbers are supported. No country code.Example:; send 34.99 to 07555 000 123"
When i received the reply message i immediately contacted my bank and asked if they sent the text message for security reasons. I was told they did not send any text message.
This is suspicious because on paypal it shows transaction as complete but the text stated not complete. Plus my bank have told me they did not send any text. I feel this seller is doing fraud, possibly taking my money and not sending anything. What can i do?
