Default eBay deleting inactive accounts

Went back in my files to work on some accounts from 2015 that I haven't logged in since and discovered they were deleted. So my question is what are the rules/guidelines for eBay deleting inactive accounts? Would be useful to know for future reference.

Yes, this does happen. I've also had the unfortunately occurance of eBay deleting old accounts that were not logged into for a period of a couple years.

This is why it's a good practice to keep your stealths in rotation every once in awhile.

Not sure on the exact time that needs to pass for an account to deleted but I routinely cycle through stealth accounts - even if not selling on them, I log in once a week and bid on stuff that I won't win

I have never noticed accounts being deleted in the U.K. I wonder what the point of deleting an account is

Lol was wondering the same thing. Most of these accounts I discovered in my case were never even seller accounts- I was going to activate them as such later on but never did. All I ever did on them was bid/browse. So eBay is deleting buyer accounts without any notification whatsoever. What about the habitual eBay buyer that only buys something on there once every year or two? Seems like bad business but I'm glad I know now that's how they operate.

Ebay definitely does delete inactive accounts. From my experience, 3 years without any login equals a deleted account. Can't guarantee that is their exact and only standard for deleting an account. I just know it has happened with two of my accounts that were just sitting in cold storage.
