Default MIFI is only giving me 5 ip addresses???

So my old T-Mobile hotspot died and I went and bought a new one today. Problem is that it's giving me only 5 different ip addresses in total AND it's repeating some back to back to back. Isn't a mobile hotspot supposed to give a different ip each time I turn on/off? I called to mobile and talked to a "specialist" and 3 other people as well and they were useless. How is this going to affect me getting linked? I have over 20 stealth accounts.

Is it supposed too? No. If your mifi isn't giving you new IPs then u will need to find another method for obtaining IPs.

Any other words of wisdom, captain obvious? Why bother posting a non-answer....sheesh. No wonder you have 14k posts.

My hotspot gives a new IP every time I power cycle. I'm guessing your issue is carrier related though. I use a prepaid carrier so if you're set on using a hotspot, try a prepaid that uses AT&T's towers (h2o, tfw, etc) since those have been good in my personal experience.

I was down in the US trying out a hotspot and didnt have an issue with T-Mobile or AT&T (I was roaming and tried both) so not sure why you're having that issue OP. Try AT&T like treysupreme stated.

@OP - Either us a different dongle ISP with a wider range or use a VPN per account.

Another option is to swap the dongle from 4G to 3G mode if your using 4G currently.

My old MIFI was T-Mobile as well and gave me a new ip evertime I powered off/on and was on a pre-paid plan. The new one is on an automatic payment plan, not sure if that matters at all. I have been taking out the battery on the MIFI all this morning instead of using the power button and have been getting Fresh IP addresses, I hope this is the solution but i'm keeping track of the ip's just in case. I will update in a few days. Thx gentlemen.

Mobile hotspot is known to have a very limited amount of IP.
so you'll see them in rotation very often.

This is why I personally use IPBurger Dedicated IP. Easy, cheap and fast.

I also use a Dedicated IP (from 24vc tho) just to be sure but I tracked my IP addresses from my hotspot for a month and never got the same two. Over 125 addresses tracked and none were the same.

I really think it depends on the carrier tbh

So I looked into ip burger and it's $8.08 for a Dedicated IP. I run about 10-15 accounts at a time so that's $120 a month? Seems a little steep. Any cheaper options?

The ISP is T-Mobile which I thought was good.

My location is Miami, Fl. I have 4 towers in my area which I think is good.

I'm not sure if i'm using 3g or 4g to be honest.

When I got my first mobile hotspot from T-Mobile about 2-3 years back and I was just getting into stealth I might have checked a couple of times if it was giving Fresh IP's. Now that I got the new hotspot and i'm more paranoid than ever as i'm getting deeper into stealth I have been keeping an eye on EVERY ip I get. Maybe my old hotspot was giving me duplicate ip's and I just didn't know it. Am I being too paranoid? Is getting a duplicate ip once in a while going to get me linked by ebay/paypal?

When I use tmobile and power cycle, sometimes I will also get the same IP over and over. Best thing I found to do is to power off and let it sit for awhile. IF you keep having the same issue, you might want to invest in a 2nd MIFI (different carrier).

Network Cell Info Lite. Great app, shows you which tower you're currently connected to in a google maps tab. Also tells you your current connection and db strength - 3g or 4g.

So here's an update on the MIFI issue. I went out and bought an AT&T MF923 Mobile Hotspot and got it connected. It's MUCH MUCH better than T-Mobile but i'm still getting duplicate ip address every 50 or so restarts. The T-Mobile would give me duplicate ip's every 2 or 3 restarts and the same ip 2 or 3 times in a row. So it's a definite upgrade. Now my question is, if I get a duplicate address from a week ago can I reuse that or does it have to be a brand new ip everytime and forever?

I am unsure what the correct answer is, and I am sure opinions will vary. Personally, I think a repeat with a MIFI every so often is not a big deal. But it is also not a big deal for you to restart the MIFI and get a new IP that you havent used. So with me using MIFIs, I have always restarted the device and waited for a new IP.

I also want to add that I am not a fan of ATT mifi. If you start to notice suspended accounts shortly after creation or use then you may want to discontinue use

Yeah it's not a big deal to restart the mifi when I get a duplicate by i'm thinking down the road. A few months from now I will have hundreds of ip addresses written down, it takes a while to scroll thru to see if i'm getting a duplicate.

Also what mifi do you recommend, i'm always open to suggestions.

I love ATT.

As for IPs, Verizon would have the most, then ATT and then Tmobile would be the least.

Ideally you would use the same IP over and over on the same account much like a VPN and such but of course that cant happen on a mobile IP.

In all reality, all IPs have been used before by someone. The faster the service such as LTE the more likely the faster repeat of IPs. Verizon basically eliminated 3G in your area and much of the country. ATT does not have that option so you are going to have repeated IPs shared by the millions of other ebay and amazon users on their mobile apps.

Personally, I dont look at IPs anymore. I no longer has excel docs or google docs logging IPs any more. I just turn to Airplane mode and back on my phones when logging into the next account.

Sheesh.

I think MM78 post was clear and decisive and it was spot on accurate.

If you want to pick on someone, maybe the purple name who only promotes a VPN while edging fear mongering using the most normal and safest option for ebay. Pick on that guy or rsot for regurgitating other members results for the sole role of popularity and post count. Pick on those guys. Dont pick on the dude who helps everyone and actually has first hand experience and not trying to sell a product.

You think that as long as you don't get back to back same ip's it should be ok? For example you don't want to log into 2 different accounts using the same ip you just used 5 minutes ago.

That is how a mifi or phone tethering works. In your area, there should be a couple thousand IPs shared by 1 million+ people. It would be impossible to not get a used IP sometimes.

The carrier makes no difference really. All have a limited amount of IPs being used by the entire populous of people.
