Does PayPal share IPs with eBay for no reason?

They do exchange IPs to prevent fraud cases...etc, but if someone signs up with PayPal today and has no eBay account, would PP share that person's IP with eBay if there is no compelling reason to do so?

No I don't see that happening with eb especially when there is no eb account

if a buyer claims 'unauthorised transaction' with Ebay ,meaning someone has hacked into his account and bought some thing ,Ebay will be able to verify such claim using methods including IP address,if Paypal is the payment method,then it would involve Paypal.

I am thinking if a certain group of people are known by PayPal to be linked and affiliated with one another, will that info be passed on to eBay due to some agreement between the two companies?

These individuals are just private users who use PayPal for purchasing online and no more, so no wrong doing is involved to entice PP to report the linkage to eBay, but I was just wondering if sharing such info (i.e: the linkage) is a standard protocol between PP & eBay?

Gosh that's really hard to say, no one knows for sure.

If I have to think that way I'd err on the safe side and act as if they do,.

Possibly if there is a big type of fr*ud/sc*m going on
