I'm in the USA, a 72 year old professional, I set up an ebay account with my own info, home address, and my phone on my account.
I looked at a few photo albums (the older kind you put family photos in) a couple of days ago, didn't buy anything, today I looked a little more, and then listed a lead pencil that artists use for special drawing, they sell for around $16-$22 when they surface (it's an older discontinued style pencil).
Instantly I got an email that my account is PERMANENTLY suspended. No "call us and confirm" type messages, no "we need to verify" like most of the forums say...
Does anyone know what the reason for this could be? I'm not linked to any other account, I bought my phone and computer brand new a couple years ago, I never sold anything or bought anything or even communicated with another member.
If anyone has an idea what could have caused this I would be very interested to know, I used my home internet, no
VPN or anything, no extra software, and nothing was a high risk category.
I am happy to answer any questions as well. I'm really puzzled because I have excellent credit, nothing at all that anything could be linked to (like a bankruptcy, kids having had an account and did something or anything like that.) I'm totally puzzled. I even called in and he read the script about "saftey of our community we will no longer being doing business with you..." etc.
Thank you!
Edit: This computer is an iMac and actually isn't new, it came from an office next door to us (another business) a couple of years ago, but has been completely reset to factory settings, and I use Google Chrome.
Also, there is no opportunity to verify anything, they wont let me chat in the Ebay window, I don't have access to my account information or anything. This is a hard, permanent suspension, no discussion, they won't even let me send in my DL or anything. They clearly don't even want to waste time with me about anything at this point. I can't imagine what I might have done that made them this harsh this fast. It was definitely triggered automatically because it happened the moment I went to start a second listing.
