what is going on?
I sign into assorted websites with password,then they send SMS or phone call to make sure it is me,it seems every website is doing it.
and that stupid game of clicking on a bus,bicycle,car ,staircase,??

That's 2FA and captcha's and the reason they're so big now is because it's for training AI.

I was half joking about AI training but I have seen people claiming that older Google captchas were used to help train some of the earlier image models.


I'm not a fan of needing to link a phone number to online accounts for them to work but it's kind of a necessary evil when money's involved.

And what is wrong with Chase Bank,I will have to call them,give them my debit card number,then my pin number,then speark my home address? then it gives me an 8 digit code,all for checking on my account with $100 balance?

And when you have to do do the puzzles 3 times and everytime you click the correct images, but it makes you re-do it. Makes me want to throw a jab at the monitor.

Compared to using your phone number where someone can sim swap you, it seems pretty alright.



I think it would be better if everyone had to use PGP for everything.

what kind of food requires refrigeration?
In some countries,they may not have a refrigerator,or they do not place the food in refrigerator,the refrigerator is meant to keep beer cold.
For example,those who live on some Philipines island have no refrigerator,they suggest you boil your food again,the next day !
In Brazil,the government gives you a small ice box free so food does not get spoiled,but some locals prefer to keep their beer cold

It's really cool but unfortunately it's never been widely adopted. It's used as an alternative form of two factor authentication in some places.
