Default Old ebay account and new paypal account

Hi folks,

I just bought an old ebay account (7 years old) with about 100 feedback and changed all the info to a relative's info. As I need a paypal account, I just created a brand new one. I haven't linked them yet, and I was wondering whether there will be a velocity limit of some sort for this paypal account? As the book mainly deals with new ebay/paypal accounts so I really need some advice. Thanks. Any comments are most appreciated.

With an account that old (and I assume un-used for some time) and a new PP account you should nurture them both the same way as any new account....

Im doing the samething now..Got my own old 04 NZ account with 50 feedbacks back after pay ebay $20 overdue fees..changed addresses and country.leave it for a week then now list 2-3 items a day with a new paypal.Still ok for now.

As the feedbacks are too old so I am like 0% rating.I bought a cheap $1 mobilephone chain to make it back to 100%..Today I received a mail from ebay ask me to do a survey about the recent purchase..Never receive anything like this before..proberly they think I am a return customer lol...

Do not list high risk or high value or high amount listings for the first couple of months is the key I believe.

To the OP, what category do you sell items? Did you know that you may not need to use paypal?

Like the Captain & 997Turbo both said, this will be seen as a new account (mainly because there has been no activity). Dot your 'Is' & cross your 'Ts' by being careful. 'Velocity limit' is more amazon. paypal have been know to limit accounts for amounts from 50c to thousands of dollars. If you don't need paypal, don't have it. Simples.

Thanks for all the comments. I mainly sell in Electronics/Computer, Software and the like. For now, I have some cheap items less than 50 dollars to sell (speakers etc) and will sell high value items later on. At the same time, I also have quite a few accounts with amazon.

I know that I don't have to use paypal but it seems it's easier to go with paypal.... Plus, I don't have a business and don't pay tax so I am not sure whether a merchant account will be feasible for me...

As for velocity limit, your are right that it's more an amazon term, but it seems that there is a similar thing in paypal such as reserve, hold, etc...
