Default UK MC010 / MC067 suspensions

Long time lurker, first time poster here!

Are any UK users having problems with MC010 and MC067 restrictions on new accounts?

I open a relatively large number of accounts (5 to 10 or so per month) for friends etc and for the last month or so, most new accounts are hit by MC010 within 10 mins of first list listing. I opened 3 at the same time last week and all were able to list but i opened 2 today and again, all were hit by the dreaded '010.

I'm trying to look for patterns in terms of timings, items listed etc to try and find out why some get through and some don't.

There seems to be subtle differences with the UK MC010 and the US MC010 in terms of the call etc.

What are other users experiences of these MC010s in the UK? Any opinions or observations would be welcomed?

You need to change your item titles, descriptions and the size and name of your pics. Once you are suspended the killbots look for your same ad, description and exif data in your pic. Best to copy the ad of a powerseller and change it up.

Hi mate,

thanks very much for the quick response. I make each listing from scratch, i never copy and paste from a template or anything. In fact, I listed an item today that i'd never listed before, just to try and mix things up a bit and just listed is from scratch. i had thought of that, but doesn't seem to be the problem.

Then they are linking you to your old account someway. Change ip address and use ccleaner to clean all hidden cookies. make sure your new registerration info is different and no links to old paypal.

I do all of that anyway.

I'm very very thorough, change the ip every time, use new user accounts AND run ccleaner. Always use new addresses, bank, entropay and voipfone number. I make sure the number and ip are local to the address. Always open and verify paypal, then open ebay and link. Never list massive amounts of items, always start by listing one item. Don't list things like iphones or ps3s.

I've never had any problems with MC010 in the past. Have been opening a couple of accounts per week and never seen an MC010 until about a month ago, now i get them on 80% of new accounts.

I wouldn't mind, but it costs a couple of quid for the new entropay number each time and it's almost instantly wasted as i can't reuse it.

I'm going to try and list one using a mobile bb dongle, will report back now. Going to skip the verifying pp part and just open the accounts straight away. Don't mind getting a pp limitation or any other thy of account restriction, just want to get a way past the MC010.

I'm a little worried that they've started to identify hardware like amazon, but i doubt it as i think others would be having the same problem.

Is anyone else in the UK having the same problem as me??

I've scheduled an appointment for them to call me tomorrow morning on one of the accounts so i'm going to try and make a transcript of the call and post it on here so others know what to expect if they start having the probl

Just managed to list an item on a brand new account, brand new unverified paypal using a mobile bb dongle.

Obviously the account won't last in terms of paypal, but it's been 15 mins since i listed and no MC010.

Topseller, looks like you were right re the IP address. I wonder what though - perhaps the IP range my router uses has been flagged in some way. What do you think.

The beauty of the dongle is that the act of logging out of one user account and into another changes the dongle's IP and makes the process easier.

jadoco, what did they ask you when they called?
Have just been hit with that same thing , and its a first for me, was using my dongle at my mums friends house and used her landline and address to get verified.
Did you arrange the call on the same number you signed up on? or is it ok to use a mobile number for them to call you ?

Hi mate

I posted a transcript of the phone call on here but it was moved to the subscriber's forum. It's absolutely nothing to worry about though. Basic stuff about name address etc.

I used voipfone to open the account and it worked for the MC010 call. I don't see why you can't use a mobile for it, but I wouldn't use one that's previously been used for ebay. I would also add it to the account details before putting it in the scheduler, just to be sure.

For sure. Acting like a real ebayer helps a lot I think. Snoop around site, look at stuff. Maybe even buy every once in awhile. Act like you did when you joined ebay the very first time.

Good point on the activity. The only account on which i've sold in the lat few weeks has been one i used for quite a lot of activity first.

re: Flash cookies, just to clarify, do I need to clear flash cookies if I use different user accounts for each eBay account?

new forum advise from vic velcro is to keep cookies and clear LSO on each user screen, because apparantly there is a chance that LSO can be seen by different users, I didnt think that was possible but vic is the expert

imhim> I had the same problem. Make sure you check the times for them to call you. Even though they offer certain slot times, before you goto the booking page, read what times you can get them to call. I made the same mistake, then they suspended me, said I had to send proof of identity and address, plus things I have been selling < was new account , had not listed anything, wrote that down on one of the pages I faxed to them>.
They reinstated me 24 hours after faxing the docs to them. Was pleasantly surprised it was so quick after reading this board.

yeah, they finally called me... -_-

They Asked Me:

1) Whats My Name

2) Whats My Address

3) What Was I Selling?

4) Do I Own What I Was Selling... (No, No I Dont... -_-)

Then, me finking they will reinstate my account, they give me the MC081, and tell me to send in ID, proof of address and proof I own what I was selling... So what was the point in the MC010 ebay calling me...??? idiots
