I was going to ask the exact same question. Let's wait to see what the others say.

IF they can, use one user account on your computer for your e bay & another user account for your browsing as the cookies etc are different. Just a thought.

Naw they can't see that - way too much - I log into banned eb associated e-mails all the time and this site while I look at a new active eb account. You must be careful NOT to e-mail eb from your banned account.

imo it's better to keep your eb acc on a different pc or at least under a different user on the same pc. you go there, look your eb, sell stuff, close it, disconnect the eb IP, then go to your joy pc to surf whateverelse. this way it's harder to make a silly mistake.

Sure - keeping everything separate minimizes risk of errors.

How can Ebay see what you put on other sites? I'm paranoid - but really - let's not start chasing shadows people, we have enough to deal with without that!!

I operate in the same way. I have a selling laptop that I do all my selling and buying on the site. It's light to carry anywhere but tough enough that I can step on it without fear of damaging it.

Ebay can't see what you put on other sites, or read any other site cookies, they can only retrieved and read cookies that they've set themselves. Ebay can't see Paypal cookies and vice versa, because PP and EB have different domain name. HOWEVER, since they belong to the same company they can track and link you in many ways: compare cookies in the backend, storing paypal info on ebay cookies and storing ebay info on paypal cookies etc..

If anyone want to see what else EB/PP can see beside the cookies and IP just google "http server variables"

What GRANNY said, and why are you mixing user accts with your personal stuff? Too easy to make a mistake. I use diff. user account for personal stuff and all EB accts. I NEVER use any email other than logging on to the particular eb account. That's safe!

Sorry didn't see the date, my bad!

Amazon currently uses this, eBay - as far as I know - does not. But this can give you a good idea what they can see if they want to put in the effort to do so:
