Default Ebay/Paypal money holding time?

Well I have sold an item on ebay for 560$. After I have received the money I wanted to purchase something with my money, but it said the funds were unable to be used atm, which means there is an ebay/paypal money holding time.

How can I get rid off this? As I don't want to wait 21 days to get my money.

Btw, my account has been created in 2008 and has 200 feedback.

Not much you can do - most accounts have this 21 day hold. You could consider contacting the buyer, refunding the money and having him pay for you some other way. There is really no other option unless you call up PP but they will want proof of shipment.

So this holding time applies for all accounts? Doesn't matter how much feedback they have or when they have registered?

Damn, I need to think of something else then :\

As has been said it comes and goes. My original stealth which is now about 6 months old, has over 100 feedback has now got "daily holds" again.

Other acts I have which are younger and with less f/b have no holds.

I think the way they decide if they are going to impose the 21 day holds or not involves some closed eyes, a dart and 2 bit of paper on the wall - one with the words "get that sucker" on it and the other with "get that sucker later"

These days that's almost irrelevant. If the account has not got an active selling history& activity, funds might be held.

Sounds like that might be the case? You decided to do a transaction based on the account age thinking it would be OK.
I notice you also said the value was $560? If you shipped from the UK to the USA it would be highly ulikely the funds would be fully released either.

The age of account does not matter.
It matters whether you are a new seller.
eBay's definition of new seller means first sales.
Is this your first sale?

This is my experience.
When I first started selling on UK site, I think I had this 21 days hold.
After this initial period (did not last long), it was fine and there were no more holds.
I never got any holds selling on UK site after that.
There were times when I had no activity for a few months but I could sell again with no hold.

Then about 1.5 years after my first sale on UK site, I decided to try selling on US site as I noticed that most of my buyers were from US.
This was about 2 months ago only.
I had done about 200+ sales at this point and had 100+ feedback.
But all the sales from the US site got this 21 days hold again and there was a message saying that this is because I am a new seller with no established selling history.
So the individual sites see you separately.
On the US site, I am a new seller to them with no history and they feel the need for this security measure.

I vaguely remember that they said the hold would be removed if I provided tracking number or when the buyer has left positive feedback.
So these may be some ways you can get it removed sooner.

Do you need these funds urgently?
Otherwise, 21 days is not a very long time to wait.
They definitely release it after 21 days if there are no issues from the buyer.

I don't mind answering questions but please do a search at least on the site.

As soon as the item is received then your money will be released 1-3 days after.
