Default How to lose powerseller status, what are the benefits having PS in Australia

Hi everybody,

Well as you can see from the title, I have 2 main questions.
Firstly, could somebody from Australia confirm what are the benefits of having powerseller and to rated seller status anyways?
I read that US and UK sellers get some discounted fees but all I could find for AU sellers, is that you get that little top rated seller logo and that's it. Is that really all we get?
I'm only asking cause my fees seem to get higher and higher (am I imagining it?). Before I had 30 free listing a month, now there's 0. My items are really cheap anyways (usually around $10 with free shipping) and it just isn't worth to keep selling when eBay is taking big bite out of my profit. I could start charging for the shipping, but then would lose sales cause other sellers are able to offer free deliveries.

Now about the second question. I thought that when I stop selling from that account and use other ones, eventually they'll take my powerseller status off. I didn't make any sales for almost 2 months and it's still there. I read that when you are in risk of losing it, eBay should send you email about it, but haven't receive it either.
So if somebody could pleeease tell me, what's the right thing to do, to get rid of it, I'd be very happy.

Thanks

I am not australian but I am still able to respond to your question:

Power sellers get many advantages & discounts from eBay.
There are 5 Power Seller Tiers:
1st * Bronze power sellers have a minimum of $1000 in sales per a month. Bronze tier benefits include prioritized online support from eBay.
2nd* Silver power sellers must have a minimum of $3000 of business a month. Silver power sellers get both prioritized online support & toll free phone support.
3rd* Gold power sellers are required to do $10,000 of volume a month. These power sellers get all the benefits of the first two tiers plus free access to eBay's Account Manager Software.
4th* Platinum power sellers get all the benefits of the gold tier but must do $25,000 of business monthly.
5th* Titanium power sellers to $150,000 or more of business a month.

All power sellers get benefit & tools from eBay to help maximize their profits. The welcome kit varies for different tiers of power seller but includes:

* A welcome kit featuring an official certificate of achievement & essential advanced selling tips available in electronic format (.pdf) on the Power Seller portal.
* Personalized sales & Feedback information on program portal pages.
* Power Seller icon next to user ID.
* Use of Power Seller logo in your item listings & on your About Me pages.
* Unique Power Seller logo merchandise to wear & use or give to customers.
* Power Seller logo letterhead & business card templates for customer communications.
* Exclusive Power Seller-only discussion board
* Monthly PowerUp! email newsletter featuring the latest program information, special promotions, & advanced selling education
* Quarterly printed PowerUp! newsletter in the mail.

Warnings
* Winning & maintaining Power Seller status is not for everybody. It involves great discipline — so consider how valuable you think the title is before deciding to become an eBay Power Seller.

I don't think you can avoid Powerseller, if in the last 12 months:
1. you have > 100 transaction & US$3000
2. DSR > 4.4
3. Max Low DSR = 2.4% and max count = 4 transactions, and etc....

They are automatic.

My opinion if you want to avoid PS:
1. Wait the next 12 months without making any sales, then the below requirement will drop and your PS will be deleted by eb.
2. Make the point 3 above to work (make low DSR & max count).
Example: post an item 1 month after the purchase date, to make the buyer angry (and left you bad feedback). You do it 5x, and it will definitely scrap your PS status.

Just my 2 cents crappy opinion.

Well I was hoping that I can refuse to become an PS, but no, it's automatic thing now. So you can't choose if you have it or not.
And I did think about getting low DSR to get rid of it, but then again I don't want to get negative feedbacks. So I was hoping there would be easy way to lose it, but it seems that there are not.
It's really annoying cause out of my 5 accounts, 3 are PS now, and I seem to get it really easily. I guess I just have to keep making new accounts and forget the old ones for longer period of time.

You guys dont have catalog? In the US you need to be a powerseller if you ever want top front page on catalog items. Today I had 2 accounts with same item and the powerseller account items was $6 more for the exact same item and it outsold the cheaper one 5-1

Powerseller status is good for more profit~ I dont need any other reason...
