Default Acquired old ebay account - whats my next step ?

i was " given" an old ebay account by a friend's friend. it was registered many years ago and has a few hundred feedbacks
what should i do next to avoid getting suspended?

1) obviously i need to change the password, changing passwords should be ok right ?

2) can i change the paypal address , will that be a red flag? if i do that slowly ie after a few weeks , will that be safe ?

3) i also need to change the email address ,will that be a red flag as well ?

please help ,thank you

Whole thing SCREAMS red flags B4 you even sign into the account.

What is its status now?

Why has the friend of a friend not used the account

How much money exchanged hands for this? I find it hard to believe this was done for love between friends

Also, you do realise that starting an old account means NADA?
It has to be re-made to meet ebay's conditions. These will include lisiting limits

GB is right! Make sure you thoroughly check EVERYTHING out on the Ebay AND Paypal accounts. Get a notepad and write down everything! Then read the Forum and SLOWLY apply what you know and have written down all together.

Good Luck!

When you first said "given", I'm sure most people thought it was given for free, since you posted "given".

Since money was exchanged, money was involved and it means you "bought it".

Do what everyone says and get all the info on the account from the person directly or from ebay. And be sure to get the date of birth.

You posted the old owner only bought things. So I guess it's only a buyers account. When it becomes a sellers account, the account has high chance of selling limits.

i have a stealth guide ( not sure if its the real stealth guide) given by a kind forumer. however it only touches on setting up a new account , it doesnt mention what to do with a secondary account , so im at a loss.

okay , i get the drift- write down every personal details on the person who set up the account .

the person is not going to give her email and paypal accounts to me for obvious reasons. Am i able to change the paypal email and email address without getting flagged ?

My time is as valuable as yours.....

I ask you questions.

You choose deliberately to answer them.

That;s your bad luck then.

This account is likely damaged.

If you care to be a bit more forthright with the TRUTH you might get replies.

For all I know you might have stolen the account.

Therefore my contributing to your getting it going is not happening.

Good Day.

greenbean,

i do not know what you are driving at. I bought this account for a few hundred dollars if you are wondering how much i paid. other than that , i do not know what other truthful info you are asking. But its alright if you think what i m asking is wasting your precious time , you dont have to answer.

Good, finally.

Problem is you may have purchased an account that is damaged.

Have you look at it? Are they any alerts? How do you know that the friend of a friend could be trusted?

I am asking this from far too many experiences HERE on this forum. Other users purchased accounts thinking all would be wonderful. That did not happen.

Again, have you checked?

It would be helpful to get your replies in response to GreenBean™ questions in regards to this matter. It would be interesting to know what, if any due diligence you undertook.

I will say this whole thing (this account you've purchased from a 'friend's friend') has the nuances of problems/trouble....eb a/c 'not to be touched with a barge pole' written all over it.

ebay account linked to paypal you don't have access to that is still in use... ummmmmmmmm whose info is going to be on the new paypal? (if that even survives)

This is not going to end well. I hope you don't have a relationship with that person, because your adventure will likely end up with their account getting limited as well as this one.

that doesnt sound very optimistic . :>

well there's no way this person will give me her paypal account as i dont really know her .i suppose i could tell her not to use her paypal account anymore . if i link a new paypal account , it will be my info. thats not good ?

i had an eb account previously that was linked to my husband's paypal account , it was okay until he started selling and i got banned as well. i suppose if i was careful with the items i sell , it should be okay to have different info on ebay and paypal ?

Think you need to read the Stealth Guide and be sure you remain unlinked first of all.

OR read a lot through the forums.

**Mr. Invisible was just telling the truth, if you don't like it then quit ebay and time to find that real job. Ebay is not for most people, lots of people don't like to hear the truth about life. They rather stay in their comfort zone.

Ebay and Paypal should all have the same info. I have tested this myself over 1 year ago and most of my accounts lasted longer with same info. Yes I was selling all of the baddest stuff out there.

Honey, you really need to get your money back ASAP. You either need to make lots of new accounts or buy them from someone on here.

Since you said you got banned from a previous account then this new account will have high chances of also getting banned if you make the paypal account in your name.

PLEASE, get your money back....

Sounds very bad. I would abandon this plan..i would start fresh and make a new stealth acount or two. Or buy one from a Trusted seller.. Or even better, buy one and start your own..before that get Stealth Guide and study it, and read and follow forum for weeks, so u understand stealth.

Ok, a first advice: Don't change all the info (passwords, shipping adress, etc, etc) on the very same day or even weeks, cause they'll limit you and that's it, keep the account as it is and so it looks normal, keep reading the forum.

thanks, think tats what i will do . however that means i cant sell anything cause the money will go to the paypal account of the other person. i will probably have to take a risk to change the paypal address some day.

also thanks for the other suggestions . however i have already paid the seller and i can't get back my money anyway . also in my country , the selling limit is stricter than in the US . My previous account which was 6 months old could only sell 12 items / month , a new account can only sell 5 items. tats why i bought this account which has a much higher limit , for those who are wondering why i did this . i did explore the possibility of buying an account from the verified sellers in this forum , however i understand that i need to add a US bank to the paypal account and that is logistically a bit of an issue.

You could change the address on the Ebay account and make a new paypal with the same info. Everything has to match. Also change the phone number if you like to something yours.

Do it all slowly. Only thing I can think of if the Ebay account is damaged (if damaged) and you still want to keep it and sell on it.

If anything, I would still try to get my money back.
