Default Any big time sellers out there?

Just wondering, how do you guys manage to ship out 4000 packages a month. Do you guys do it all by yourself or have people work for you?

Not everyone hires help though, I only do on really busy weeks. You don't need to sell thousands of items per month to be making bank either.

I'll bet most here are under 500 items per month. Myself it's at around 200-300 average or 5-15 items per day. If you get $30-$60 profit per sale well you can do math.

My brother sells body jewelry and he does all the packing it goes to about 50 padded envelopes a day, it's not that hard.

I only sell 10-15 things per day and I make good. It really depends on your profit margin per item.

Hi,

I have shipped up to 50,000 packages per month. At the moment am doing roughly 600 per day. Monday is the nightmare because there is a build up from the weekend. We only work Monday to Friday

I rely on a software package called linnworks which treats me well. It has some great features for automating sorting, printing and processing of orders. It also has stock control features. You can also do your own programming and have it change virtually anything on an order when it arrives. Order Management Software | Stock Control System | Linnworks

To speed up the packing and try to stop errors we print the item skus on the address label. This way the packers look at the address label to see what they need to pack.

The main problems we face are stock control and marking the orders as shipped. The software package helps us with this.

The other problem we have is answering questions. We get over 100 questions per day about different things. I use mozilla with some addons to make it easier. I have a one called text complete for answering common questions and another one "url link" which allows my to highlight some text (amazon order id - paypal transaction id) and when i right click it takes me directly to the relevant payment page on either ebay or amazon. You can configure this to work anyway you want.

I also have some custom software to help with some different tasks such as adding tracking numbers quickly to orders.

I have employees for doing the work. 2 people dedicated to packing. 1 person supervising the packers. 1 dedicated purchasing person. 1 dedicated order printing and processing (mark as shipped)

Their capacity per day is roughly 2000 orders.

If you have some more questions please feel free to ask.

Cheers

How big are your packages? If it is 4000 small packages i would think you could do it alone as it is roughly 200 per day. If you get yourself a good order management system it will take alot of the adminstration work away. The package linnworks i mentioned before is simply one of many available.

No, she works in Foxconn's shipping department all by herself.

See!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look, things only come when they are meant to be. This is what I really believe with ebay.

This is a BONUS for you after the hassles of last week.

Go forward and find the items. Keep in mind the holidays are coming & continue to nuture the accounts. These weeks are the time to be getting accounts in a good place for December.

Thanks for the posts guys. Wasn't expecting that many of them. But the reason i was asking this is because i stumbled across a legitimate supplier that deals with products that are in very high demand. And of course i am not the first one finding out this supplier so that means i have some pretty big competition out there that have been doing this for many years.

Just with like any legitimate supplier, the profits aren't amazing. This is would be the type of business where the amounts you sell that brings in the profits. But there is a GREAT deal of potential here. Unfortunately, just like any business it will take LOADS AND LOADS... AND MORE LOADS of work.. but i am starting to see that this actually the best road to take into making some serious cash without getting into much trouble.

My problem would be of course the inventory and the amount of time i have to put into this. I'm pretty busy with my school life so i think i just found my mom a new job
