Ended up having long circular email arguments with their customer services - circular as each email was handled by someone new who would make the same mistake as before.
I had to point out to them that their T&Cs specifically say that all I have to do after the 6 month dormancy period is to follow their instructions (i.e. type in that code provided) - just as you say Rsot - and that is it for another 6 months. I also had to point out that there is no mention of the monthly re-occuring fee they were trying to charge in their fee schedule, only a one-off 6 month dormancy fee.
In the end, it turned out the whole of customer service were singing to the tune of pre-2011 T&Cs !
Completely out of date and different to those on the website. But the URLs were the same.. so they'd send me a copy of the pre-2011 ones via email which contained hyperlinks to the new, current T&C fee schedule on the website. Made it look like the T&Cs they sent were current until you clicked back via the hyperlink tabs to re-read what they'd sent you, only for it to change as it was now showing you current ones direct from the site (if that makes sense?).
All sorted and the correct situation should be as rsot described, type in the code from the email and your dormancy clock is re-set.
Wouldn't normally be a problem but it costs almost as much as the dormancy fee to upload funds! Every now and then I'll have to remember to spend something.
