Default Cox Cable and changing IP Address

I have read through answers for about four hours now. I use Cox Communications for internet, phone, cable. I have a Belkin F5d7234 Router and a Cisco DPQ2312 Modem.

I have tested my ip address with IPBurger and it comes up the same after disconnecting and unpowering both router/modem. I left them unplugged for 2mins, 5mins, and overnite. I then tried to change mac address on router, save, restart and unplug/replug modem during restart. All this did was make my connection unavailable. I could no longer access internet. I tried a different change in mac address 5 times before giving up on it.

Any suggestions? I have been suspended from eBay on two accounts and really need to get back on as I am addicted to selling on eBay.
I have found proxies and VPNs to be useless so far.
If I can't get past this IP issue, I am sol.

Okay I have the eBay Stealth ebook and have read and re-read several times. No suggestions so far so I have been browsing throughout the forum.

Possible solutions for IP issue:

= A "dongle" love the name btw...but still unsure exactly what it is. I am guessing it is a USB Modem hopefully I am right. Somewhere on a post here mentioned Tmobile Jet This option would incur additional monthly fee for service.
or
= New Router(s)...can't find any info so far on how this would work. Would I need to unplug one router in and plug in a new one everytime for different user? Or plug both router into separate modems and have them running continuously? This option would be no additional cost as it would use my current ISP.

Thanks for adding the key.

Yes, a USB Dongle is a modem you activate with a cellular company. IE: ATT, Verizon, Cricket etc.. It seems Verizon has the biggest IP pool and they also offer MiFi's.

It is a preferred method for those that have trouble changing their IP address and want to run multiple stealth accounts.

Also you might want to take a look at this thread for changing your IP on your current ISP:

Thanks TGMT

That was the thread I used to try to change my IP. Didn't work and have given up which was when I started this post. It is most likely static, but I will call Cox just to see if they can change it.

I was wondering about buying verified accounts - Wouldn't an issue arise because of access coming from a new IP (whoever buys the account versus where it was verified from)?

Cox IP's are typically not static. Have you tried changing your MAC address on you router and then resetting? Otherwise, get a linksys or Cisco router.

I contacted Cox and they said although there IPs are not static, it will only change once every 24hrs AND if no one is currently online at the time. Someone is always online 24/7 at my house, which is why it never changes for me so basically we have created our own Static IP address. I can direct connect to my modem and the IP will change. I tried changing the mac address on my router but it just shut down all internet. Went and got a second router so I can use it.
