Should I sale New with tags item as "Used"?

Hi,

I am about to list a jacket. The jacket is New With Tags.

I have 6 feedback and have had the account for a month.

I am afraid to sell the item as "New" even though It is new because of the dreaded eBay policy where they might ask me to supply documents, invoice, receipts etc.

Is it better to list it as used or will it not hurt?

Hi MM78....if an item new is under say £50, would you list in title as used, in item specifics as used but in main description as new with tags. Its a prom style dress. Probably not a good idea to list now on a.stealth account but would be interested in how to list it in say a.month from now. Dont want account to get flagged over a dress :-)

What brand is it? How much do you think it will sell for?

Sorry...wasnt sure if your questions were aimed at original threadstarter.
Dress is unbranded and no more than £50 which is nothing but have listed it twice before on new accounts and accounts.got restricted

Figured it being new was an issue because i also had a childs unbranded dress new and that account got restricted too
Mind you, all this was before i went into stealth mode so i want to be careful. Listed my first item 3 days ago and it hasnt raised any concerns. Not sure whether to wait before selling a.second item.
Im.being a.bit of a scaredy cat at the moment with this being my first proper go at stealth :-)

Yes :-(
There is every possibility that other factors came into place ie - ip address etc, name etc..
This was all before i went stealth. Looking back coz ive learnt so much on here, is that it probably didnt help me listing it straight away.

Something else is wrong here. With clothing I HIGHLY recommend to stay away from anybodies recommendations on this forum, most are misleading and outdated. You must experiment and see what works for you, this is what I did for me early on.

I screwed up and got accounts limited but I'm overall stronger from it. I can create a new account and list new clothing, branded clothing with no problem. I know what I can and can't list...so I don't have to wait 3 months to do BIN, or sell a Ralph Lauren shirt..

The universal opinion on this forum would disagree with me but I sell clothing for about 75% of my items. I know what I'm talking about. A lot of factors still apply that you will have to learn yourself.

Thankyou and its good to have other peoples viewpoints so i take on board what you are saying.... but i definately wont stay away from recommendations on this forum coz im new to this and i wouldnt have got as far as i have without these forum members help. So i take my hat off to them all for being patient with me.

Unfortunately im not in a position to go with trial and error at the moment because im.accessing from a mobile device. I can only carry so many phones around with me lol
But when i get laptop i will be in a much better position to experiment

if you plan on listing it as a Buy It Now, you might have some trouble. I would go for an auction.

If your account has never been in trouble and you have a handful of successful sales, chances are if you do get an MC999 they will just remove the listing and not shut down your account entirely. That is far from a guarantee though.

Yes...auction only. Have had no sales yet. Only recently started listing slowly :-)
