Default DSR Score and how to get them up.

Hi I have a ebay account that's going down the crapper I believe its a lost hope I gave it a good run and running it till the wheels fall off! My account has been doing pretty good I sell 2nd hand goods on ebay and I have 60 feedback on my account and I got 2 negs over some BS and one was from a scammer trying to rip me off well some how I got low dsr scores not sure how or why cause I got 58 happy buyers and 2 mad ones. What I was wondering is I got many other ebay ids I was thinking I could set up some buy it nows and use my other names to buy the items and give my self a 5 star rating and wondering how many it takes to get the dsr back up. The account is below standard and that was a month ago from today and it future outcome ebay predicts its will still be below so im expecting to get the email any day where im no longer allowed to sell on that name. I have been selling like a madman on it and haven't paid any ebay fees cause I know it will be canned soon with no hopes of saving the account so I figured I will move onto another account and start over!

The Dsr score system is such bulls**t I just found out a few weeks ago if u sell something to some one and u want to cancel the sale and the buyer agrees u still get a strike on your dsr score!

Buying from yourself really is a bad move. How will you pay yourself.
Are you going to say item was collected or r u planning a pp to pp transaction.
Either way, a very bad move. You will get linked and everything else will go down with it.

Dont give up on your account just yet. Sell some stuff that hopefully will get you some good sales.with little problems. Ship fast.

As.for ebay fees, regardless of whether you get limited or not, you used ebays services so therefore you should pay them.

I have a low DSR and I have improved it by selling lots of very cheap items - even making a slight loss.
My Seller Dashboard has updated and my performance to date has improved.
This is in part due to me selling lots of low priced items (I'll be continuing this as apart of a long term strategy). so give that a go.

A question to everyone: Will the performance percentage rating move as I make more sales without (hopefully) any defects or is that figure only updated once a month?

How many sales you need to get above standard depends on your seller dashboard. Tell us what it says, e.g your defect rate and amount of sales.

You can then calculate how many sales you nees to get above standard.

Cancelling a sale does not result in a defect unless you select the reason as 'out of stock or sold to someone else'

From your post it seems you do not understand how ebays rating systems work. You can notbe succesfull on ebay if you dont know the rules.

The seller dashboard is updated on the 20th of each month.

Yes I have had to do this Amazon seller real account, when I kind of tripped over myself putting too much attention in to trying yo save an eBay account that was going down the pan and neglected my Amazon which rather ridiculously in the circumstances is STILL up and running I am now very pleased to say!, I sold some more things and made sure I did everything perfectly on it and so to me Amazon seems easier to stay on, but I know that is purely an illusion from reading so many other Amazon cases on here, I have just been very very lucky!!

My defect rate is 3.8 and my number of transactions is nearly 500 over one year. 205 in last 90 days.

I'm currently selling items i feel will be less likely to get me low ratings!

One problem with cancelling a sale is they can still leave feedback and low DSR.

Thanks for any help.

Sales of a good product with no issues and excellent customer service is the only answer.

Sell low end items with free shipping - ppl will bid and leave positive feedback - no need to buy from yourself truly.

I dont think selling more items changes how many low DSR's you can get? I believe if you sell over a few hundred items in a certain time frame the evaluation period is only the past 3 months versus 12 months. Ive been way over 5% for 2 months and was at 7 low DSR's when apparently 8 is considered below standard. I called the defect hotline and got 3 knocked off easily, even got an account increase.

No reduction of limits and I am still above standard according to the Dashboard.

I had yellow flags for items not as described and not received - I had a few missing parcels in run up to Christmas - but now I'm back back down to 3.8 and the yellow flags have gone!

You want to shill bid to get your feedback and DSRs up? NOT a good idea! Right now you seem blinded...which will lead to a mistake and you will end up linking all of your accounts.

all of the accounts I would use to up the dsr it junk accounts I cant sell on there only good for bidding I would never use my good accounts to shill with. I shill bid all the time and never gotten linked but I know to use separate user accounts and to change ip address's.

things I learned on my last ebay accounts once I fell below on dsr I got canned I even sold the heck out of 2md hand goods and got lots of + feedbacks but didn't help nothing still got canned. I got 4 more accounts that are good I will just start back on them and make new ones as time gose on and get them rdy for using.

DRSs are all based on transactions.
8 low DRSs are NOTHING if you sell 10,000 items...

The more transactions the lower the defect % It is simple math.

eBay refunded two buyers who did not return the items because they had already closed my account. Because they had already closed the account there was "no appeal" from their decision.

eBay can sing for the fees. They cost me over $1,500. I am not paying them another $200.

This seems to be working so far. I've bought small items i can sell cheap, sadly they are selling at a loss but only pennies. They are selling well. I can pop on a first class stamp (92p) and post them in my local letterbox. They've been arriving next day to customers. I add a note thanking them for their custom and asking for five stars and positive feedback, OR to get in touch if any problems.
I'm unsure how many sales I need to improve my DSR. Can anyone help?
I've given some figures in a earlier post.

You have been doing this since just before Christmas? Keep going a while longer with this strategy to improve your dsr's, you can start to add in a few of the items you want to be selling as well

I started the cheap stuff strategy two weeks ago I have my usual items listed too but I am not listing more at present -it's gone quiet for those anyway.
Any that end will stay ended for a while.

This morning my Performance rating on Dashboard has improved very slightly. It might take another month but I'm optimistic.

Any news on that account dbcreator?

Would it be worth stopping all sales and leaving it for a year until DSR resets itself?

The thing about that strategy of leaving it for a year to reset, is that you would be right back at square one and have to tiptoe along treating it like a brand new account again, so a pointless route, best to carry on selling low risk items that you can a good few of ideally, keep listing those and vary them a bit if you need to, until you find something that starts bringing in the sales, for a month or so then gradually add in a bit more variety with items bringing in some more profit

DB: keep making more accounts that's always a good idea, sell low risk on the accounts you have already got to nurture them along as well
