Default Canadian debit cards?

When I get a Canadian based PP account, how do I get those PP debit cards mailed to me in the states? I don't want to have PP tranfer funds to my checking acc cause they are to slow and I here they can transfer or cancel mid stream on deposits especially near limits and suspensions.

Do you have a CAD paypal acct already setup?

If not you may want to consider a mail forwarding service, that way the debit card goes to your CAD address, but ends up in your hands in the US.

Thanks earlt, so simple. That means my weak address has to be a little more legit. I know pp does'nt care for PO boxes, if thats what they're called in Canada. I don't know if mispelled streets, last names... will cut it for this one time thing.

Hi Hercules,
Use a company like UPS stores for your mail because they give you a street address. However, paypal debit cards and the paypal plugin are not available to people with Canadian based accounts.

Thanks Baskets. So all of you up there just take your money out buy transfers to your bank alone praying that a limit or suspension may not hold or take your money for good? How do you get a credit rating without a SS#?

Hercules,
Yes, other than using your paypal account to buy things like gift cards, etc., bank transfers are the only way that I know of. Some sellers use their paypal account to buy things off of a site they control, basically you would be sending funds to a merchant account. (I have never tried that but it works for some, be careful because of extra fees and the possibility of linking.) Years ago, paypal in Canada allowed you to make transfers to your credit card but they put a stop to that long ago. Then, they issued the mastercard debit card but stopped offering it a few years ago to new account holders. I think Canadian account holders that still have one may be allowed to still use it, don't know since I lost mine when I lost my very old paypal account. Our banking rules here are pretty tough, I think that is why we only have the bank transfers.
Re credit rating etc., we have a social insurance no.(SIN No.) here in Canada. That and birth date is what they usually use for credit checks. As far as I know, paypal is not asking for the SIN no. here at this time.

Hi Earlt,
Is your account a Canadian one and did you get it recently? All of their site info says they are not available now to new Canadian accounts....

They only offer the debit card to select Canadian Users and i think its based on how long you have had the account and your selling history.

It looks like I was one of the last of the lucky ones...did not realize that was the case- that's unfortunate.
