Everyone knows they get free return shipping if they claim an item is defective/not working. The 'I changed my mind' return reason makes the customer pay $6+ to ship the item back for a return.
Part of the downside to being so easy to order stuff - people buy things they maybe shouldn't have. The other side is that Amazon makes returning stuff so easy vs having to take it back to a store. I've had a ton of return requests in a non-Amazon business that requires the buyer pay for return shipping. 90% of those returns never come in.. even if it is only $5 to get back $70.. there are tons of people looking to freeload & that's just the way it is right now. Factor it into your business and price your products accordingly. |
