Default Amazon buyers returning items for the wrong reasons

I have had some buyers on Amazon return products (between $200-300) for defective items. I create a removal order for them and check the products and they are in perfectly working condition.

I contacted Amazon and they refuse to reimburse me for the Amazon fees for the transaction. Has anyone else experienced this?

Welcome to the Amazon retail business. Everyone knows they get free return shipping if they claim an item is defective/not working. The 'I changed my mind' return reason makes the customer pay $6+ to ship the item back for a return.

Part of the downside to being so easy to order stuff - people buy things they maybe shouldn't have. The other side is that Amazon makes returning stuff so easy vs having to take it back to a store. I've had a ton of return requests in a non-Amazon business that requires the buyer pay for return shipping. 90% of those returns never come in.. even if it is only $5 to get back $70.. there are tons of people looking to freeload & that's just the way it is right now. Factor it into your business and price your products accordingly.

How is the ratio of returns vs sales?
Is this something to worry about?

Unfortunately I don't see a solution to amazon returning the fees to you. I know it's a lot considering you are selling expensive stuff...
