I need some experienced opinions
 

Last year I got suspended on ebay and because we used the same computer my mom's account got suspended also. She owes them 175.00 in fees. Since they kicked her off she didn't have the money to pay them. A few weeks ago they sent her a letter that said if she paid the 175.00, they would reinstate her account. Do you think they really will or is that just a ploy to get the money?

I think they really will especially if they sent her a letter saying so. I've had a non-payment-suspended account restored after paying what it owed.

But that wasn't the original reason for the suspension. They suspended her because I was suspended. I was suspended because I got sick and get behind on shipping my orders on time. Then is when she couldn't pay.

I think I will call them and see what they say. I could tell them she can pay unless they let her back on. :)

That's tricky, then. Maybe there would be an underlying linkage related suspension still in place even if she were to pay her fees.

Good luck on the phone. eBay phone CS has been total crap lately.

If payment is the only reason she'll most likely be reinstated.

I know what you mean about the CS. I have found that I got the best response late in the evening.

Yes I just paid my ebay fees today and I got reinstated same day...

As long as you got the letter, try it. Then if they dont, file a complaint against them and show proof via said letter.

Ebay is based off of contracts, right? Give em a taste of their own medicine :)

Plus, ebay seems to be VERY desperate lately. I guess as long as they keep your account alive, there is SOME income for them rolling in.

No I won’t get reinstated your mums account is linked to a suspended therefore once you pay the balance the account will not be reinstated.

Yea not getting linked is the big thing. I setup my first stealth account yesterday, went over my checklist 3 times to make sure everything was perfect. Went to eBay and registered the account and guess what. I got 0/$0.00, I didn't know you couldn't use Google Voice. I am going to call them tomorrow and see if there is anything I can do. I can't loose anything by calling.

Now I think I have burned my new $60.00 PO Box. I am going tomorrow and check with the Post Office and see if they offer the "Street Addressing" that is mentioned in the Stealth Guide. That would be fantastic.

I wouldn't consider the PO burned. You can still have an item shipped to an different address than is listed. People move and PO boxes are re-assigned all the time. Ebay knows this.

I have applied a return address sticker over the stealth address on my packages directing returns to my PO box for years. My undeliverables always come back. I always use the "Shipped from" option to add the zip of my PO box so it will return to the same area it shipped from(not sure if that is needed)

PO Boxes can be used with address variants, I used to have 5-6 variations for each one.

For example, PO Box 101 Main Street, Anytown CA 00001-0000 becomes

Mail Drop #101 Main St, Anytown CA 00001-0000

Slot 101 Main, Anytown CA 00001-0000

Even variants such as Box 1 0 1 Main St, Anytown CA 00001-0000 will work.

Use your imagination.

Also, you can vary the town name, for example townships often are subdivided into distracts, the overall city name may be 'anytown', but the local designation could be 'lakeside', the important identification is the zip+4. I've been told by postal clerks the city itself on the address is pretty much disregarded if the zip+4 is used, that will isolate the destination to a single portion of a street.

The sticker always worked perfectly for me. After a while I did away with PO Boxes entirely.
