eBay Stealth 3.0

Hey guys, how's it going?

In a couple days I'm going to start work on eBay Stealth 3.0!

I want to know what you guys want to see first and foremost.

Write down your wish list and I'll work on it.

Thanks,

Vicvelcro 07-06-2009 05:45 PM

I would like to see a section about privacy early in the book. Very much like you have already, but maybe more concise early on, and the details re-organized and spread out where they chronogically fit in...

Basic concept at the opening, and the details salted in later.

Nothing huge or drawn out and detailed. An introductory blurb that tells people from the start that they need to keep a towel wrapped around their heinee at all times and that they need to update their own knowledge from time to time. Like software and hardware upgrades, we need wetware upgrades too. And a reminder that privacy issues do change, so we/they need to periodically review what's old and what's new.

Simply a quick overview (links for people to follow for more info):
Your IP address (and why to mask it)
Cookies (how they work and how they work against you)
Flash (same as for cookies)
Local Cache and History (why clean it and how often)
Sharing of personal info between sites (CC, Bank, PP, Ebay, Auctiva)(what does and doesn't happen)
Keeping it all sorted (windows logins)
Why people should be concerned and how to be careful early on.
Things to implement before you start the first step of making your new stealth.

The value here is that people would avoid being linked to old info before it happens, they would know in general (before it's too late) that privacy IS stealth.

Then later on, include snippets of or more links to pertinent support data in the sections where it applies the most.

And maybe near the end or in an appendix, links or info for the Hardcore eNinja or the wannabees in training <grin>

aspkin 07-06-2009 06:04 PM

Okay, good info vic, I understand.

GreenBean 07-06-2009 06:16 PM

Even the order of 'velcro's post could be changed. A brief definition of stealth and what that means, eg, no use of old info etc.

Rules of forum need revamp. I know that's a side issue.

philly387 07-06-2009 07:23 PM

I like both vics and GB's posts...I definitely agree with GB on the "definition" of stealth at the top.

Cover vero more in details, Ebay payments, drops... I may be leaning towards the black hat methods more than white which I think wasnt the plan haha

aspkin 07-06-2009 09:03 PM

Blackhat is my middle name. :)

I think this update will be deep. At this point you guys just added 10-20 pages of content to the eBook without knowing it.

philly387 07-06-2009 09:32 PM

I think 10 of those pages are going to have to be covering vero...I think a lot of people actually get confused by what vero actually is...

Is it looking like the book is going to be more than just being "stealth" on ebay now?

GreenBean 07-06-2009 09:45 PM

Vero will have to be done under advisement. My immediate thought is spoonfeeding. That gives me an idea to cover the matter :spy:

Hmm, I want to keep it on Stealth stuff. I'll talk about VeRo, give tips and what not, but it's not going to be a how to guide on selling VeRO items.

Vicvelcro 07-06-2009 10:35 PM

Sound like a large project developing. Yummy.
I suggest vero be carefully considered before committing.

philly387 07-06-2009 10:43 PM

I don't think it will be bad if the book just explains exactly what vero is and maybe a few tips.

GreenBean 07-06-2009 10:48 PM

You can lead a horse to water but you can not make it drink.....
apply that to veRo ;)

Stealthyman 07-06-2009 11:35 PM

I think it is important to stress early on in the book.....that people attempting this stuff have to make sure that ALL points are covered including the external url image hosting on sites like Auctiva. And if EVERYTHING is NOT covered they will get linked.

nobody999 07-07-2009 01:48 PM

aspkin,
will we be able to get our stealth book updated free to 3.0?

philly387 07-07-2009 02:17 PM

I believe updates are always free! :)

yes .

planes 07-07-2009 03:25 PM

Maybe a section on use of credit cards with eBay and more info on how to precisely move away from or greatly limit Paypal in your eBay business.

aking 07-08-2009 08:26 AM

It seems a lot is changing with VCCs and gift cards. A lot of the ones we used to use are no longer able to be used. I would like to see an updated list of VCCs available.

I think the Stealthbook 1.0 was great, and it was well organized. I would like to see the exact same content, but just have each section updated.

Vicvelcro 07-08-2009 08:34 AM

As much as it changes and as rapidly in recent times, VCC list would be outdated quickly in hard-copy of the guide (IMO). But the means to an end could use an assigned updater maybe.

Just a thought.

GreenBean 07-08-2009 08:37 AM

*coughs* I update it. oops...needs to be updated soon:peace:

Vicvelcro 07-08-2009 08:40 AM

Pretend I never said a word then. I don't like the dunce hat or the corner.

Yeah probably, send me a pm.

boubou 07-29-2009 07:24 AM

Long time no see as my Chinese friends say.. :-)
I am back in this forum and ready to help and be helped.

We need more specialised info for Non US Ebay sellers. There are people out there ready to pay good money for this ebook but worths nothing for them if its only for US, UK and maybe Australian sellers.
I want to grab the chance and THANK aspkin for the new "International" subcategory. Its a good move on the right direction.

proudpapa4 07-29-2009 10:16 AM

The stealth ebook is priceless aspkin but I've come to find that your forum is mission critical. You can't get this sort of interaction / support for the price. So perhaps go a little more in detail about the forum, nothing much. I hope you understand my point.

Hottest_eBay_Goddess 08-01-2009 12:47 AM

An update on working VCCs and Phone Number Trials that work with eBay. Also, maybe a section on how to sell higher priced items with a newer account (ie; what should you do starting, how long can you wait minimally, etc.). Also, a group of 21 day hold workarounds could be nice as well. :)

Hercules 08-01-2009 12:10 PM

I would'nt change a thing. Giving up good tricks is bad business. Why can't people PM each other for advice.

GreenBean 08-01-2009 05:41 PM

Yay for Hercules! Love what he said. There are givers and there are takers. Stealth has it nicely balanced at the moment. Everyone who uses it can get something to help their business.:peace:

AGREED!!! I enjoy getting PM's from people :)

Ebayorbust 08-06-2009 06:42 AM

Hi Aspkin,

Here's my opinion (for what it's worth):

I would like to see more information on Paypal set up and verification. For example if the set up is done the correct way you don't need to phone verify on Paypal. Perhaps a list of what info lifts what limits and a step by step guide setting up the Paypal account.

Keep up the great work.

Regards.

philly387 08-06-2009 06:48 AM

Everyone's opinion matters here. We can use all the input we can get! :)

Hercules 08-06-2009 07:20 PM

I think we should all talk in riddles.

Hey Aspkin (Blackhat?)...anyway...there is a nasty rumor going around about paypal asking for DL#'s now. Do you know if there is any credibility to this? As I replied to one thread, how much more personal information can Paypal legally and legitimatly ask a member for, whether you are a Paypal verteran or a newbie?
There HAS TO BE a line to be drawn. I'm not only speaking in a Stealth point of view, but protection for a "Persons" own privacy.
Seriously, anyone working for Paypal that is beyond PC savy and has the slightest bit of "Hacking" knowledge, would not only have your SSN, because it is Required, they would have your DL# because it would also be "Required".

Honesty, Trust and Integrity only go so far in a business invironment. When you turn the light out though....the cockroaches (thieves) normally come out to feed.

Thanks!

SECondplaygames 09-06-2009 01:28 AM

Table of contents (+ relating thread links for people to review updated info on to the forum)
How to change you IP address ( if you have a fiber optics i.e no modeum)
Means to an end list, (what doesnt work)
What items you need before you start a stealth set up ( i.e Bank account, email, VCC or CC ect..)
Examples of creative ways to over come limitation ( Invoices, ID's Ect..)
Just a thought.

aspkin 09-06-2009 02:10 AM

Thanks bud, will add those to the to-do list.
