| | | TGMT² | 12-31-2009 02:13 PM | TORRENT THREAD...A Place to Post a Safe Torrent others may Enjoy! I have been wanting to start this thread for sometime now because many forum members here enjoy downloading torrents and I suspect others may be interested in learning.
Lets try and keep the torrents posted here from Demonoid since there is not a safer torrent site anywhere.
If you are not a member of Demonoid, I can help out with a few invitation codes for members who are active on this forum. I am sure others can help out as well.
Most of the movies I download are "Screeners"...which means they have not been released on DVD and are not available to the public. They usually contain watermarks and warnings, but are very watchable.
If you have never used torrents, post your questions here and we will get you started. There are lots of knowledgeable people here.
Remember, If you post a torrent...it is one you have actually used and know it is of Good Quality and Safe. |

| captainjack1980 | 12-31-2009 03:37 PM | I download classic/cult TV series mostly.... managed to get every episode of Prisoner Cell Block H over this last year!
Don't bother so much with films and stuff I can get on blu-ray as I like to experience it in its full glory.
I use Mininova and The Pirate Bay
CaptainJack |
| TGMT² | 12-31-2009 03:45 PM | For those who (must) visit Pirate Bay I suggest this...
Only go there in FireFox, never Internet Explorer or you will be subject to ad-banner hijacks.
Be sure and set your Firefox setting like this: Tools -> Options -> Content and uncheck Java and JavaScript. |

| TGMT² | 01-03-2010 04:57 AM | Nero 9.4.26.0 (The newest one)
For those of you who have bought 64bit Computers and use Nero, you might have noticed that your older version of Nero is having several problems.
Mine was, my DVD's were skipping during playback in my DVD player. I wasn't sure if it was my DVD writer or my Nero program. Well it turned out to be my older version of Nero that wasn't compatible with my new 64bit computer.
This version of Nero is supposedly compatible with 32bit and 64bit computers. I have only personally tried it on my 64bit computer and it is working fine. Demonoid.com - Nero 9.4.26.0 M@$te® ™ Edition |
| Burning | 01-03-2010 01:18 PM | Thanks....I got the garmin update and nero.... |
| Burning | 01-03-2010 01:49 PM | Ok. I downloaded the garmin update. Can you please advise which folder and files have to go on my garmin. I have the garmin 750. |
| TGMT² | 01-03-2010 03:44 PM | ^^^^ OK...I am going to walk you through the way I did it.
1) 1st and foremost! BACK-UP your Garmin's original files in case something goes wrong. 1st make a folder on your desktop and name it Garmin original files. Next connect your USB cord to the computer from your Garmin and copy and paste all your files from the Garmin into your new folder on the desktop.
2) After you have your back-up file made. Go into your files from the connected Garmin and locate gmapprom, its a image file. After you find it in your unit, delete the file and replace it with the same file from the torrent.
Thats It! Simple! |
| inverser | 01-05-2010 01:43 AM | Awesome. Demonoid is one of my fav trackers. I'm really glad it's back up too. It was down for a while.
I recently got an invitation to a new private tracker. Is anyone else on it? Baconbits Tracker |

| BooMer | 01-05-2010 12:24 PM | Can't you guys share the same user name and password? If so then someone please give it to us so we can use instead of waiting for Invitations. I don't see any harm doing so since we just need the file info to put in our client software.

| Hey R! I would if I could but BB is a private tracker for reddit members only. The admins themselves send out the invites and you have to request one through reddit. I think you have to be an active member too --- they check reddit user history to make sure it's not the FEDS. So in that regard, it's a pretty safe place, but on the other hand, it's harder to get an invite. You should join reddit just to get on the tracker. It's pretty sweet. I'd even go as far to say it's cooler than Demonoid! ;) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43382/bacon.png |

BooMer | I would do that except I'm pretty sure some a$$hole would probably change the password. |
| TGMT² | 01-05-2010 07:46 PM | ^^^ Maybe you could for a couple of forum members you trust and like! :pry: LOL |
| inverser | 01-05-2010 07:51 PM | ^^^ LOL et tu, brute!!! |

| Hottest_eBay_Goddess | 01-09-2010 06:18 AM | Interesting thread. Figured this would be more related to business or even more related to ebay business. So this is just to post links to random things that are verified safe from torrent sites? |
| SevnSins | 01-09-2010 09:51 AM | LOL! This is great. Are there any "old-timers" out there that are from the IRC era? Torrents have made everything so easy for newbies.
;) |
| BooMer | 01-13-2010 08:21 AM | Getting Warez from AOL Private chat rooms for requesting/sending mass mailing lists back in 1995 is consider a "Old Timer" Sevnsins? Back then everything was being sent via email in batches.
I agree, Torrents is so much easier for the newbies in the Warez community and a lot safer.
You gotta love Technology!
BooMer |
You want to talk old school... How about using a 300 baud modem on a commodore 64 to call your local bbs which ran color64 or DMBBS to post and download warez like a Ruggie. Back in 1987... WoW... How times change... That is pretty old school! |
| tripleflip18 | 01-15-2010 11:07 AM | I have an invite to a site with HD Movies. You gotta be able to keep the ration 1:1 (download/upload) If you need HD movies and can promise to keep a good ration PM me for an Invite. |

| vetus | 01-15-2010 10:44 PM | Ok i have a question for you guys,
What is the best software for downloading torrents?
What is the best and why? or are they all just the same?
E.g. Vuze, bittorrent, utorrent, bitlord etc
I use Vuze.
Interested to hear your comments.
Cheers Trotts. |
| captainjack1980 | 01-16-2010 07:10 AM | I use utorrent. Doesn't tie up all my system resources or crash every five minutes.
CaptainJack |
| vetus | 01-16-2010 07:46 AM | Ive just downloaded it, its much better, im un installing vuze right now, vuze is full of ads compared.
Ive used vuze/azureus for years as well, it was ok before when it was azureus but just got worse and worse since it changed its name to vuze last year.
utorrent all the way from now on. :) |
| revenge | 01-25-2010 10:33 PM | utorrent is great but i all depend on your set up and if you forward your port.
I haven't had problems with vuze but it's all in your configuration. |
| jtaverner76 | 01-29-2010 12:21 AM | Newsgroups only for me ;) |
| TGMT² | 01-29-2010 02:17 AM | ^^^ Post a couple of the Newsgroups you like so we can check them out. I admit I haven't been to a Newsgroup site since 1996 |

You gotta pay for a subscription but it's dirt cheap if you consider all the stuff on there. I dl 100's of gb a month. |
| Vicvelcro | 01-30-2010 07:19 AM | Simple cure for the resource hogging in Vuze and the 'media experience'.
Simply go into options, expand the "Interface" tree, find the UI chooser, and switch to classic Azureus mode. Voila!
Vuze/Azureus configured in classic mode is much better than anything else I have ever used (except Earth Station 5 which is defunct). Quote:

| TGMT² | 05-04-2010 01:22 PM | Several members have been commenting on how good the "Spartacus Blood And Sand" series is.
So last night I downloaded it and watched the 1st episode (13 total) and it was VERY GOOD!
For those interested in downloading from Pirate Bay, here is the link I used in HD quality... Spartacus Blood And Sand Season 1 HD (download torrent) - TPB |

| jamblix | 05-04-2010 05:59 PM | Torrents used to be the way to go, I like streaming all my media now. When I did use bittorrent I used BTJunkie.com they have never failed and I never got any viruses/bugs off that site.
For T.V. the absolute best place to watch all the T.V. you want is SideReel.com. You can literally find any T.V. show you want to watch without having to wait to download before watching.
For streaming movies you can go to movies-links.tv or alternatively OVguide.com and use the search bar. Never had a problem finding a movie I wanted to watch on these sites unless they don't come out for another year.
This is for all the people who don't want to wait a half hour or more to download the media before you can watch what you want these sites give you direct links to all streaming media. Of course torrents are the way to go if you'd like to keep them and sometimes they offer better quality vs. streaming.

Last time I used it (about 6 months ago) there was commercial interruptions and buffering issues. Plus keep in mind this a torrent thread, and I doubt you can "Stream" a update for your GPS unit or find a Nero application on Hulu.
Like I said in my 1st post: Most of the movies I download are "Screeners"...which means they have not been released on DVD and are not available to the public.
And I doubt you can Stream most Screeners as they are probably not available. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 06:10 PM. | |
