PayPal Phone Verification

Greetings all,

I'ved looked around the forums but had no joy on this (I'm very sure the answer is here some where but I can't see it! )

My Paypal account has been limited and they are requested I add a bank account and also verify my phone number matches my address).

I have added my bank account the other day (once paypal finally sent my fees)
so now I have a tick against that.

The next issue is to match my phone number with my address but when I click resolve it takes me to add a credit card - I've already added a credit and confirmed it!

Do I need to make this credit card my primary one (as I have 3 cards on there but the other 2 aren't verified).

Or is there something I'm missing like does paypal have to call me and confirm that way.

play about with it, as you say make the one you want primary, also removing and adding it again can work.

OK I'll give it a whirl.

My only problem is because I'm limited it won't let me remove the credit cards (as I have already tried to make it more organised).

When I find out what I've done wrong I'll post on here to help others, similary, if anyone has had this I'd be grateful for your imput.

Well that didn't work so I sent PayPal a question asking how to get my limitation removed as nothing appears to be working. I got an automated response back saying basically you have to call us...

Does anyone know if I can use any phone number to call them or do they identify the calls and could be linked to in future?

You just reply well yeah I'm renovating. falling in love, falling out of love or something to make them quiet.

This is where you learn not to be afraid of speaking to paypal.

Hi Lee, I take it you have 3 credit cards added to this Paypal account that is now limited?

You cant use these credit cards in any way with Paypal now as any attempt to will see you immediately linked to this limited account.

I would not bother trying to lift the limitation, just set up a new Paypal account.

I would only add a bank account if you have fees that you would want to withdraw (if the 180 day hold applies)

Once you add that bank account you can never use it again in Paypal.

You might be able to get the limitation lifted if you add a bank account and then use a landline number that you have access to. IE friend or family member. If you do this make sure that you change the address to match the number.

Then once done call them and ask nicely for them to lift the limitation. Try to find out exactly why they limited your account. If you can have an idea of why and if it is likely you can be re-instated is good news otherwise you run the risk of never being able to use that bank account or phone number again.

Greenbean - OK thanks, I'll make something up when I speak to them.

Neo - You are correct the 3 credit cards are already added to this paypal account - it doesn't matter as they are VCC's.

I have already added a bank account to this paypal account so it'd be nice to reinstate the account without having to reopen more bank accounts (I already have 6 or so against my name :/).

I think they limited my account as the first vcc company I used for some reason are pending the transactions from paypal (even though there is money on the account - won't be using www-card again ( NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THEM)).

I think the only way to resolve this account is to confirm that first VCC I used - so I'll speak with WWW-Card and find out why they aren't processing the payment and if they can't do anything speak with PayPal, then if they say no just have to start from scratch.

Oh well at least I'm learning!
