Can a canadian go to a usa bank and open up an account i need a us account for amazon

If you have ID under the terms of the Patriot Act, you should be fine.
By ID I mean passport, DL and your Canadian Health card.

What you should do is try the toll-free number for Bank of America or even HSBC. There are other banks whose names elude me right now. Speak to the sales people and check requirements.:ranger:

Should you proceed, make sure you can access your money B4 you join.
By that, online banking might not be permitted because of the lack of SSN.

You can open a US currency account at RBC Canada, it works with PP as a USA account, so it would work with amazon too.

I called amazon and they said it must be a us bank not just currency
