Another dvd seller bites the dust
 

They made almost a million bucks and only face up to a year in jail and weren't even using multiple ebay accounts, just imagine the possibilities.

probably got a good lawyer and spent all the money they made on legal fees, and now they are labled as convicted criminals...definitely not worth it

It's not worth it to go that far but it can be worth it to make just enough to get started in something else.

You guys read it wrong. It says:

They were getting so reckless though. Kinda feel bad almost. If they had just done a few things differently they could just have happily retired with some major cash. Looks like what they were doing is a little different from what the people on here are trying to accomplish.

this is the major stuff,for the bootleg stuff its a year, they did alot of shady ****,all the other crap they got caught for is way worse than the actual selling dvds,,entry of goods by false statements,ss fraud,false statements...way worse than selling counterfeit, even people ive read who went to jail for selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ crap never went away for that long,its all the other stuff that gets them wayy worse,

i suggest you all stop selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ or this could be you and you and you...

of course no one knows what can happen,but if you go stealth the correct way and do it smart(something majority of the board has no clue of) than youll be ok

that couple sold bogus dvds,i bought the godfather 1-3 dvd years and years ago on ebay and it was a bogus bootleg,the case was all crap,thats the type of crap they were selling,all i did was go to my local blockbuster and swap out the dvds..haha..my problem solved!

but ya you can sell anything you want to as long as you go stealth correctly,i mean worse case scenario they rarely dont go that far unless yer dealing in the 6-7 figure range and them trying to contact you to no avail

Stealth does not protect you, trust me. If they were after you they can easily search your ip and find the location of it.

I'm sure they got busted because they were making $30,000 a month and ****ing the government on taxes. You can't have thousands of dollars coming in a week and not show where its from.

of course i know that,but they dont go that far for chumps,if yer messin around in the 6-7 figure range, if you do a few thousand a month under multiple accounts,youll be fine,they wont waste there time on someone doing 1k a month,they have better things to worry about..again it depends on yer product,

If the FBI want to find you, they will find out regardless. People have not been using IP addresses to find criminals for the past two centuries. Play smart and don't be TOO greedy. Stupidity and greediness are the two biggest factors of people getting caught...

well said..just like i said a couple post above you,if they really want to bust people for selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ stuff,they easily can,they really dont put too much effort into it..one of the main reasons they do is because the companies complain and they have to do big bust every now and than to make everyone happy,but seriously the govt has more important things to worry about than people sellin ⊗⊗⊗⊗ stuff online..im not saying they dont care,but its not really high on the priority list

Don't be too paranoid. You gotta take risks in life specially to make big money and invest it in property or authetic suppliers and come clean. I have a minimum of 2,000 a week goal and I'm not letting paranoia or people stop me from accomplishing it. Or at least, not anymore. ;)

These two were really deep into theft. I do not beleive that the people on this site are doing that.

But have they ever caught someone in a cafe or parked car? It seems like all the people they catch are doing business from a physical location

It has to be a direct link. If not it's just circumstation evidence. I posted on another thread that a guy shut down about 100 cars with gps diabling devices for not paying your monthly note if he was smart he would of used a spoof or different ip but they just follow the trail ,the trail from he ip led right to him if it doesn't use his ip then what?

Also these people not only were probably selling the stuff right out of their house or office but they also had websites which are more traceable then multiple ebay accounts. If I was doing that much, any one that comes to this house isn't gonna find a single thing not even a traceable computer.

What if your computer is about 20 miles from where you are, do they trace it by gps or something?

They could only trace it to the neghibor hood whch is called a NOID they can not trace a ip to a certin house cause every one in the noid uses the same internet so once they find your noid they have to go from there to figer out which house/owner is selling the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ goods. But if ur importing them and haveing them sent to your home then thats all they would need to find u.

And if ur selling 30k a month your asking to get caught there not going to come after every small time seller out there.


If u did all ur bussiness through wifi hotspots they could never track u just by ip.

It was the money flow. The FBI goes after big money. His bank sent info to the fed's when allot of money went in and out. Plus they didn't report anything on there taxes plus he was collecting unemployment and his girl was on SS for blindness!! chumps. It's like the mafia, you got to give something to uncle Pauly upstairs (fed's).

trust me, they have other ways to find you besides just ip :)

I went to the tanning salon yesterday and they tried to make me submit to a fingerprint scan. WTF??? I said no. So they recorded my eye color and driver's license number. It'll be the chip next and knowing how to live a stealth life will be good info to have.
