Need Help with Listings Please

Hi all
I was hopeing to get a bit of help from you all out there as I am pulling my hair out here.
This is how it goes Yes I sell Vero like most of us and God its hard at the moment. I carn't count how many accounts I have lost and all I seem to do is make new accounts for them to go down again.
The problem here in Spain is that the spanish are far behind with buying on Ebay so vero is the only things that really sell well.
Any way i have put up a few listings with no brand name in the tile and no brand name in the listing just the pics and still they are pulling me down and mc081.
Any body out there got any good ideas please
:croc:

Not safe to assume that "most of us" are selling VERO.

If you are using photos you've copied from a genuine website owned by the manufacturer or brand owner, those are hashed and often watermarked. Use your own photos.

If you are already using your own photos, I can't really give advice without further details defining your problem.

sandiepiggott 05-13-2010 05:47 AM

Hi thanks for your reply. I am sure not all are selling Vero sorry didn't mean to upset anybody. the problem as i said in Spain that they are so far behind with buying on the net that vero items seem to be the only things that people look for on the ebay.
I have listed items with the brand name in the heading of the listing and nothing els in the body. I have also listed misspelling the brand name with photos that i have taken myself. All seem to get MC081.
I even had a account over a year old 18 feedback go down with the same to-day. I really don't know a way round this as i carn't find anything in spain that sells without being vero
any advise would be great please
belive me i would love to sell No Vero

Are you trying to list from an account that has already been flagged for VERO? Or are these new accounts?

This might be related to another issue mentioned in another thread. Seems some users have new accounts that appear fine until they try to list an item. Regardless of what item is attempted to be listed, the listing fails. The cause is not yet identified.

sandiepiggott 05-13-2010 06:01 AM

Yes they are new accounts that have just listed a few rush things on them. All my accounts are now new as I have lost so many to MC081.
I have thought about buying some older accounts as i have now run out but could be a wast of money if they are allgoing this way. They arn't picking up the pc as i use difrent user names and no flash. ip changes every time.
really at a loss and as this is the only income we have desperate at the min

Well, looking at the other thread that GB gave link to, I'm wondering...

When the MCxxx notice comes in your email, is it soon after you list? Do your listings run until almost their end time?

Have you tried one of the new accounts but listing items entirely different than you currently list?

What I mean is, if you are listing E.R. box sets up until now - have you tried listing golf balls as a test?

Try getting away from your possible competition. Do that with one account. From another account, try listing something in your usual category but a different specific item. If you'd been selling E.R., try listing Dallas box sets. And don't put them in the proper category. Put them in the 'Collectible' category.

Tracking a problem can be tedious. I know this doesn't sound fun. But until we have or get more data, we may not get very far. Take a day off. Go to the zoo and sneak the monkeys a 6 pack. Give the otters some chewing gum. Have a laugh. Come back and test some things the next day.

Hi Guys well all i can say is that i think i have tried every which way. Yes i have listed normaly thigs on the accounts and they stay up if i only list a few. but when they have finished i list a few more normal things just like aspkin advises in the books then they get pulled.
Hi GreenBean at the min i carn't keep the listing up for the spoof bidder to even get. Si don't know if i have got over that problem yet

If its not one thing is't another.
Any more ideas would e great
MC081 is the problem that i have been having for ages. Some listing come down almost as soon as they go up and others stay sometimes for a couple of days.
Buy the way sorry to say i have done the zoos and days away from it over the past 4 months come back fresh think of another way do it and bang down again
Really.

sandiepiggott 05-13-2010 10:59 AM

Ok This is one that i carn't understand thought i had the answer but no just gone down.
I opened a auctiva account listed a item with the brand name photo and nothing in the description just check out my auctions. Let it run for a couple of days all was o.k.
Then i listed the items with no brand name in tilte or description but no paypal they all ran for one day and just gone down. I carn't think what they would of picked up with that. That was the last account i had
You guys seem to know a lot any answers
could it be that i have found a category where you don't have to accept paypal.
The main listing with nthing in the description i have tried with both paypal and no paypal

Are you using photos you've made with your own camera? If you are using premade photos from elsewhere, perhaps they are watermarked or the hash is being matched against another user. If so, your listing would come down.

This particular problem of yours is difficult to diagnose. You have tried many and varied techniques and alterations. There is no common element we can analyze.

Each listing that gets cancelled could be for a different reason than others, and you wouldn't know the cause. Neither would we.

If you want to pin this down, stick with one listing pattern, then alter only one aspect at a time.

sandiepiggott 05-15-2010 03:20 AM

Yeh I will try that again. I have done the one listing pattern as at the monent i don't have anythign to loss.
I will let you know how i get on in a few days as i don't have any accounts ready jet.
The one thing that does not ring wright with this is thay are not beeing suspended for 7 days or 30 days for violation they are just MC081 which is the biggy we need to get round i think

Vicvelcro 05-15-2010 03:28 AM

I agree.

If you will be making new accounts, consider this: I am beginning to suspect that a point-system is being used for rating new applicants.

Phone type could be ranked based on virtual, soft phone, cell, voip, or land line.
Card type could be ranked based on VCC, Gift, Online, Debit, Reloadable, or true credit card.
Bank could be ranked based on virtual or brick and mortar.

Try not to use a virtual or soft phone, a VCC or gift card, online bank. I'm starting to believe that virtual phone with VCC and online bank would score so low that the new applicant would be red-flagged in the worst way. In effect, if I am correct, that new applicant would be limited as immediately as possible (just short of being black-balled at the beginning).

My theory is that a land line telephone, a true credit card, and a brick and mortar bank would be the strongest type of account.
