Default Selling Visa and AMEX Gift Cards??

I was looking at some of these on ebay and they are going for over the value of the card. Every one sells for over the amount on the card.. Whats going on here? Only thing I could think of is people getting paypal money out of their accounts without transfering to a bank account by buying these cards.. Anyone else have any ideas?

I have noticed that many times before myself. But its not just Visa or AMEX gift cards. I have seen people buy $500 Wal Mart gift cards for $550. If only Ebay didn't make gift cards "high risk" then I would just sell them all day long. Can't get much easier money than that.

^^^ And what you would make after the "Final Value Fee" and the "PayPal Transaction Fee" ?????

$500 ...Cost of Gift Card at Walmart

$45 ...eBay Final Value Fee at 9%

$15 ...Estimated PayPal Fee

Good point. That is assuming you actually paid the Ebay fees

I sold a few gift cards before, like Target and Wallart.. All of them were sold for more than their value was... I can't explain why it happened .

Some places dont have walmart and target so people rather buy a gift card for little more on ebay to use online in these stores instead of driveing 50 + miles to get a giftcard. like here the closest target is 65 miles away and by the time u add gas and where and tear on your car and time it takes its better to buy one and pay 20 or 30 bucks more.

I don't see the point. Can ppl simply buy a regular visa gift card at their local convenience store or use their own CC or debit card? It doesn't make much sense.

It's still risky though, I wouldn't sell them that's for sure.

I bet 1/5 buyers of gift cards are scammers.
