Default Ebay Resolutions & Collection Agencies

A few months ago I had paid almost $5,000 to take care of some resolutions from a lost (stolen) shipment of items, which was talked about in another thread. The replies got me thinking, up to how much of a resolution complaint do you think Ebay would just turn over to collections?

Paying off the missing items was a stupid move I realize now, because after I put every dollar I have into getting my account back on track and paying for things that were stolen (UPS Store shipment, long story), there was no guarantee (at all) that Ebay would have even reinstated me, or have even given me the time of day should it not have been automatically resinstated.

So I'm just wondering, how much of a negative balance do you think Ebay would just push off to a collection agency? Or maybe someone knows of certian tiers for certain actions...?

Don't know about certain tiers or certain actions - but previous experience (ha) have resulted in agency calls for 150ish dollars and 650ish dollars - just constant calls. I talk about Canadian experience though and no, they don't have my real info so...it is what it is.

I am not paying those fees on items that I did return to buyers and should have had final value credit but, of course, eBay suspended account before auction fixing could take place.
