if you mean a wifi dongle, that will only give you a new inside IP address (in your own network). Your outside IP address (the one the rest of the world sees) will stay the same. This will not help in getting a new IP address.

Cool, Thanks for this. So each seperate dongle provides a different mac address and that should do the job?

Yes, every piece of network equipment has a different MAC address, there is prob less then a 0.000001% chance of getting duplicate MAC addresses on two different pieces of equipment.

According to the stealth guide they can not read your MAC add, can anyone else chime in and speak to this?

Best way is to have 1 laptop for 1 ebay account :)

Dude 08-10-2010 11:10 AM

Mac is the driver hardware for the device which you use to connect to the Web, so yes each dongle will have a unique MAC address

Does anyone know about this MAC address issue? I have separate user accounts on the same laptop and use a cellular modem...I use the NIC card BUT, only on non-eBay business...Other than that I disable it and use the cell modem...

Surely, they can't read your MAC address. Can anyone prove me wrong with facts?
cos it seems we are all getting paranoid that we assume PP and ebay can tell the size of our d*icks.

If ebay knew the size of your penis then they would put it on every account to just to match it. *******s!

If Amazon can, and they CAN, Thats Fact, Why can't Ebay

Dude 08-10-2010 07:52 PM

eBay Can read your Mac, if you want people to come out and say they can't so it makes you feel better about using multiple accounts on 1 computer then I can pretend that they can't but the truth is they can :(

As for facts, I have had multiple accounts blocked when using the same dongle and trust me it was the dongle that caused it

As for size of our d*icks, well I hope they can't or a lot of people at eBay will be jealous of mine :D

vokonta 08-11-2010 08:48 AM

Well then..now on a very serious note, how can one solve the MAC address problem when using multiple accounts on dongle? Seems the stealth book needs updating or have i misread it cos i felt all was good to go on a dongle.
Pls this is serious talk now ...forget my d*ick size joke...lol
Lets tackle my questions pls

Dude 08-12-2010 09:29 AM

There is no correct answer because there are software out there that can spoof your MAC but you must ask yourself, how reliable are they?

As mentioned above the simplest and safest way is to use 1 laptop per account, what you have to ask yourself is how valuable do you see your eBay accounts. If you use eBay as full time then I see no reason why you shouldn't invest £200 - 300 per account and just see it as a business expenses. Then you know this is a SOLID set of account.

If you do eBay part time for this and that, then you just use the software.

Also remember the Stealth book is just a guide line *very good one* the rest depends on what you sell, value, amount, experience and etc.

Hope this helps :D

oompaloompa 08-13-2010 01:18 PM

Bueno, some good comments.........all I can see us doing is, once one account gets banned, then spoof the mac and the rest of the accounts will have that mac BUT if they LOG the address from the get-go, then all shared-mac accounts are linked regardless...as slapped says, if amazon does it, so can ebay...its a real issue

and as for one PC per account, jeez I wouldnt be able to move for PCs in that case....
