I think I'm missing something. Why would someone prepay $50 for a card, then sell it for $35-$40? Are these cards, uh, questionable or "hot" in any way? Is it risky buying them?

^^^ The first buyer on ebay never paid the full price. May have got them as a reseller & then sells them on. Also this was in early 2008 so there are alternatives nowdays.

Real streets in real cities with real zips.
With this method you guys don't seem to concerned about "having your cover blown" in regards to when someone decides to return something.

Do you just write that off as an "occupational hazard" and quickly replace it with another account?

thanks everybody

^^^ You ensure there is access to the account, even if there is an alternative address.
Stuff blowing the cover on a working account. I certainly do not do that. Too much trouble.

So in this game, we create ebay accounts/paypal account. There are many steps to doing it.
No-one should make an account and put in any address, if you get what I mean. Are you thinking that it is fly-by-night & jump from account to account? Because the hard-core users here do not do that at all.

I was starting to get that impression as people were suggesting I use a "local phone book" or a "30k name database".

From reading the other threads regarding problems that can come up such as:
buyer wants to return something, ebay freezes your account for something,
or paypal freezes your account for something,,
a bogus address would be akin to shooting yourself in the foot.

So I'm guessing one solution is to rent mailboxes that are in a similar format as a street address as opposed to P.O. BOX 123.
And most importantly you have total access to the incoming mail.

I've seen threads where posters imply they have 20 or more ebay accounts.
Is there an economical solution to create 20 addresses for 20 ebay accounts?

thanks

GB,

Can you further explain? I'm not clear what you mean by your statements. I've got a system for processing returns on a !@#$%^&* address account, but what do you mean by "No-one should make an account and put in any address, if you get what I mean."

what ebay doesn't know won't hurt you. 1 address works for 30,000 accounts if you are truly ambitious.

Exactly what I said. I make an account in xyz name and have an address from nowhere. What use is that? I control the account. I never have to worry about items coming back, I never have to worry about snail mail from ebay/paypal going to another letterbox & being returned. This makes fewer troubles overall.
Have a read in other parts of the forum, 'Hi, ebay are going to send me a powerseller cerificate but the address is blah blah blah OR paypal will send me a check in 180 days but the address is blah blah blah. See the problems and problems take time from selling. No time wasting here.
