Default Best way to access US eBay from UK?

Hello,

What is currently the most successful way to log into an eBay account registered in another country to the one you live? I am in the UK and need to access a US account.

I have heard that VPN/Socks are no good, what options does that leave?

Thanks in advance

a quick thought...

do you have a friend with a computer and an internet connection in the USA?

I've always wondered if you could use software to connect to that computer and control from another country, for the purposes of stealth

Unfortunately i dont have anyone like that, i cant imagine that would be the most streamlined solution.

If you had complete control of a dedicated computer, with a battery backup in case the power went out, it would be an idea. You wouldn't even need a monitor on the pc in the other country

Yes FE this is an entirely possible solution, using Remote Administration Tools and even software like TeamViewer you can control a computer from anywhere in the world. There are indeed networks that provide and share access to 'zombies' of computers, this borders on illegal if you don't have the owner's consent or is alternatively very expensive.

As you suggest having a friend or relative, that would be the best option - they'd have to be pretty trusting though.
