Well this sucks i just started a listing on a 2007 account with some feedback as a buyer (less than 10 feedbacks) so i created a listing 5 minutes later i get hit with the id verify limitation, so i call i fix that issue i re-list the auction and i get the 10 items per month or $500 dollars which ever comes first.

So the item i am selling will sell for at least $700 bucks. Now what i have to wait one full month to sell again? thats crazy!!

I think sooner or later eBay will have to start increasing the limits. Or get rid of them completely. That's just my opinion, other people may not agree with me. But eBay must be suspending hundreds or thousands of existing sellers every day, and new sellers are only allowed to list 10 items per month for the first 3 months (30 items in 3 months). The existing established sellers will be suspended at a faster rate than new sellers will be able to grow into existing sellers ..and sooner or later, eBay will suffer from a decreasing number of sellers.

Yes .. in the past they have introduced tough standards, then loosened up later on, they will likely do the same with this. They may have to, they must be losing loads of cash!

As always, others here might disagree with this theory, but it could also be due to the holiday season. Note that the changes went into effect almost at the same time as eBay put up their Christmas design. It could be coincidence, but the selling limits could be a way for eBay to try and minimize the amount of buyers that get ripped off by bad (sell&run) sellers. And keeping sellers from "flooding" the listings (note the new duplicate listings policy).

It's just a guess, I could be wrong.

Regarding rip offs by bad (sell&run) sellers, probably more than half of these are caused by ebay themselves. Honest sellers have their funds siezed by paypal, or the listings removed by eBay, then eBay sends out emails to buyers telling them they have been ripped off. This leaves the buyers feel as though they were cheated by a bad seller, when it might just be a case of eBay creating a problem out of nothing.

Here in HK we are running into the same problems trying to sell clothing. At first we got the 10 limit, then we talked to them on the phone and they raised the limit to about $2000 (about 50 active for us) for active + complete listings. We have about 50 active listings now and they are not really selling fast (1-3 a week) so we need to try something else.

We want to create more accounts as we have so many products that need to get listed. The only problem is for eBay HK accounts, the usually at some point ask you to send in your ID and address proof for verification. Anyone else have that same problem? I don't know if it's just a problem for HK accounts. I don't know how we can create so many accounts if they are going to ask for ID verification. Creating more bank accounts and more Paypal accounts is not a problem.

Any suggestions?

From my understanding every new account is 10 items or $500 per month whichever comes first (which is nothing for those of us selling authentic luxury items). I am trying to figure out my course of action.
I had a long talk with ebay about this. I even argued with the guy and told him he must be crazy because my account is 2 years old. it doesnt matter how old the account is. You are basically under 90 day review period that starts after your first sale then they will determine if you can sell more if there is no issues. I asked what to do with a garage full of merchandise I bought and the clown at ebay told me "ebay didnt tell you to go buy all that stuff"
You have to always keep in mind that ebay/paypal are very ruthless people and you have to deal with them in ruthless ways.

So much for Stealth accounts when you have 300 active listings. Ebay will fall on their face, just watch & see.

I also got 10 item limit i am from Thailand. I am new to Ebay.

I have a question that while traveling can we ship items from other country, as i have made some accounts and will wait for seller limit to restore. But i use to travel in different Asian countries and i just want to confirm that for e.g I have account in Thailand and list few items and it sold, but until that time i move to Philippines, so can i ship the item from Philippines, do i need to mention in description that item will be send through Philippines post, and while doing so do we violate any Ebay policy.

Regards.
Sam

How about if we has 3 accounts on one Paypal account, then or even 6 or 8 ebay accounts since paypal allows it, so that nearly 60 items per month and if you have over 30 accounts then i guess it would be profitable.

I open a new account. My limit: I can sell 10 items in any 30 day period, or $500.00 which ever comes first. I'm in the US

i opened 2 accounts in the last couple weeks, both with the exact same listings but under different but somewhat similar categories.Automotive related, one got hit with the limit and one didnt, itleast not yet. Both have a couple hundred active listings.Im screwed on one because i assume im going to have to eat the listing fees for all my listings but i will sell 10 before all my auctions are finished. So i wont even break even if i actually paid my ebay fees, which based on this model there is no way to do unless i come out of pocket
