Activity: 0% Longevity: 95% | | PayPal STEPS... 1,2,3 :Tips + TRICKS...
HI:
Well, For some of you, this is "no news"/ "old news", but we have alot of new folks on the forum who need immediate help...
A.) First and foremost, be certain you have already Verified your Paypal account BEFORE using it...
(this will avoid a pre-mature limitation) >>>>>>>ONCE AGAIN....First and foremost, be certain you have already Verified--BEFORE USING...!!! <<<<<<<
--WELL< How do I do this ??
I.) You need to do only "2" out of the "3"--the EASIEST 2 are:
1.) Give them a credit card--let them charge the $2.95, (expanded use fee)-- in 2-3 days, check your cc on line- or debit card-- get the 4 digit code, right by the line that says:
PAYPAL EXPANDUSE9999, therefore in this example,. the pin their are looking for is the "9999".
2.) Give them your checking acct info-- they will make 2 small deposits into that acct.
--again, wait a few days, go online, or call your bank, or stop in and ask for a statement printout for the last week..
--- Paypal would have placed 2 small deposits, they will say:
Paypal acct Verify .11, and Paypal acct verify .16
SO- Therefore you are going to input the amounts ".11", and ".16", into Paypal..
*****************NOW- You're Paypal account is VERIFIED**********

The 4-digit # always comes before the word "Paypal" in my experience.

Activity: 0% Longevity: 95% | | SECONDLY:
--Now that your Paypal account is Verified..now what?
a.) Take it slow,, build TRUST... Do not expect to start running Thosands of Dollars through this account, without some question..
b.) "If ME"--I would NOT DIRECT LINK this account to ANY ebay account...
--What do you mean by "direct link"??
>> Direct LINK IS BY choosing Auction Tools in Paypal + adding the Ebay account, as well as in Ebay, adding that Paypal directly..
--Now, YOu CAN simply place that email address in your auctions,
c.) Make SURE--DAILY-if you do not use Paypal shipping (+ i dont)--
--that you place the TRACKING NUMBERS in Paypal.. for EVERY SINGLE ORDER..
d.) Be Certain to NOT make alot of changes within your Paypal account as a New account holder, i.e. name, address, etc,,
e.) Make certain UP FRONT-- you have a Working Landline--that you can Verify with Paypal--its your Bread + Butter were talking about here--so
I PROTECT my Paypal accounts, more so, than my Ebay account
(I can go get an ebay account in about 30 minutes-by stopping at 7-11, then just sit in the school parking lot with my laptop....)
f.) Think about this BEFORE you make your Paypal account--
>> What will they ask me for?
>>> What name am I gonna use?
>> What address??
----- ALL of this info--Well thought out.. UP FRONT, will EXPEDITE any Limitation they throw at you....
(continued)---

Activity: 0% Longevity: 95% | | THIRDLY-- PAYPAL LIMITATIONS--WHAT WILL THEY ASK FOR??
-- Well, Generally on a first time Limitation, they make it Easy...
A.) Tracking info for all recent shipments
B.) Verification of your Physical address- by calling you, and you answer- you get a PIN number from the Operator- then punch that in, on line..
C.) Supplier INfo-- Who is your Suppliers--Names/Addresses/ Products they supply
>> This should Naturally Correspond to what you are selling.. i.e. if you sell clothes--no sense sending in a bunch of invoices for Jewelry...
D.) And Normally, on a first Limitation, they will also pick 1 or 2 transactions, and may ask you for further info on them..
*** NOW, the Subsequent Limitation*** (After you get rolling)-- These by the way, come even on the Older 5 yr old+ accounts..
A>) Set a Credit Check address-- (this simply means--they WILL BE RUNNING A CREDIT CHECK ON YOU)..
B.) Supplier Info again.. They will really scrutinize them this time.. I usually send photos-- they now have an area in the Resolution Center to upload photos..
C.) Copy of Drivers License
D.) Copy of Utility Bill for your address ,a s they have on file
E.) Copy of the last 1-2 statements of the "Bank account" you have on file with them...
---FAX or Upload this info to Appeals dept..***
(IN the meantime, you may not---Withdraw any funds, close your account, etc.)
--This Review takes alittle longer, sometimes up to a week to 10 days...
END RESULT--
Either they un freeze, OR;
You will get an email--
"We;d like to make the transition as easy as possible,,,we do not want to do business anymore<etc., etc.)
********** NOW, What do you do with all this Info?? *************
WELL, Forewarned, is Forearmed...
(THINK... Get ORGANIZED.. Get your Ducks in a row,, Get your docs ready..)
Hope this helps..
** Theres more stuff, but I'm thinking off the top of my head right now.. Feel free to add..
Thanks + Good Luck!!!

They almost always ask for your SSN too! I've never even made it to a 2nd limition because they always ask me for my SSN the first time and when I refuse, I get the "We will be parting ways" email.

Great information as always ebayhateluv!
Users really need to become confirmed and verified before jumping into eBay sales. You'll save your self tons of time later on figuring out what went wrong if you do.

What is the first suspension usually for? Is it the standard "abusing eBay" garbage?

Paypal never suspends anyone or expels anyone for that matter! They are permanently limited---and, according to their own TOS, they retain your info for LIFE!

So:
What I am saying here ...
Theres NO SENSE in going into the Paypal end of it.. 1/2 ways...(KNOW up front what you're facing, gather or know you can gather this info)--
I.E. If its your brothers , neighbors, bosses, daughters info,,
and theres no way on this earth you can get her
drivers license 2,3,6 months from now, Re-Think it!
You will ONLY get YOUR MOney stuck there for 180 days!!!!

Oh, I called paypal today (AH!) about another account -- again, playing dumb! They love it!! lol --- anyways, the phone I called on and used *67---they asked me to put my phone number in, etc--- I did---brought my account up (new acct) and then it said (the computer), "We noticed your not calling from your primary phone, would you like us to add this number to your account?" ---- AHHHHHHH
I hung up, lol --- and 4 hours later ACCOUNT LIMITED!!!!
They know what number you are calling from even with *67! (yes, the phone was my home phone and it was registered to my original paypal acct from back in the day which is of course permantnely limited)

The contact is fine - just make sure you use the exact number you give them --- remember guys, think like we are new to this --- if its only been a couple weeks since we've opened a paypal account, we would be curious about every little thing! I like to call if I know I am going to get a boost of money to them---i might say something like "im interested in expanding my business and wanted to know if i could use paypal on my own site because my eBay customers just love it, etc etc etc" They typically respond like, oh yes, definately! Let me update your acct with that info
I.E. When more $$$ comes in, they are expecting it to!

They do! My friend who use to work for them said the software and security they now employ is comparable to that of the CIAs in terms of processing capabilities!

wow I don't know how in the world they still saw your number on their screen after hitting *67 that scares me! so did they permanantely limit your account after that? I spoke to them over the phone twice a couple of days ago calling from a different number than on my account without any questions, I guess it depends on who you get.

So whenever you call a toll free number dont even try to use *67 because it doesnt work at all with toll free numbers

Did you dial an 800# ? There's a different method for blocking that. I think it's called ANI trace. I heard it once back it 1996 and don't remember it now.

Wait a minute...youre saying that if you give them the information, all they can do is
a) Set you up as normal again
OR
b) Freeze your account and give you back your money in 6 months (by check i guess)?
Complications/Permutations -
What if you *dont* give them all the information. What if you just confirm the address (utility bill) and phone number? Do they cut you off from your cash permanently then?

How do you do this in PP? Are you talking about the "check shipment" field under account activity?
Thanks!
