Okay a couple question for you guys. I'm just about finish putting together the Paypal alternatives guide. There is a TON of information there. But I feel there are a few things missing, and I need your help.
Let's begin...
So we all know there are Paypal alternatives out there. We have Authorize.net with Auctiva, Google Checkout with AuctionCheckout.net, CCNOW with direct invoicing and Google Checkout with direct invoicing. You can also stick it out with Paypal and create new Paypal accounts per eBay account.
Are there any other Paypal alternatives out there that work with eBay? I know there can't just be these few… Anyone know anything other working alternatives that you recommend?
Okay something else…
With each of these alternatives are we faxing merchant statements for all of them? Or are you guys mostly using paypal and merchant? Is anyone doing the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ Paypal email trick with this? Using a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ Paypal email address for payment, and when buyers go to pay, they get the seller hasn't accepted funds yet notice? Does that still work? Or do you just wait until your statement is accepted and go from there?
I think that’s about it. Let me know what you do.
Thanks a bunch,

I had a Paypal account (my original account w/ real info) that was limited and I was in the process of lifting the limit but I still had auctions going and I was getting about 3-4 sales a day. At first I wasn't aware I was limited and all of a sudden I was swarmed with emails from customers saying my Paypal "couldn't accept payments at this time" At the time I also had Bidpay and had everyone pay using Bidpay without any problems for about 2 months before the limitation was lifted.
I was wondering if this would still work? When your limited but the ebay account is still running and accepting payments for that email you could make up a story why you can't accept Paypal and have the customer pay thru the merchant account.
I tried the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ email thru activa but it kept coming back with an error. I tried emails I have but they aren't connected to ebay or Paypal.

Hmm, that's something different. You can't do that with old linked Paypal accounts but I guess if you are limited you can tell buyers to pay by your other merchant account.
So the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ paypal email doesnt' work anymore?

I'd like to help since this is my biggest roadblock. I have merchant account via authorize.net. I have used it with auctioncheckout.com not net and auctiva.
auctioncheckout allows me to add a check out button into each listing linking the customer to pay though my authorize.net gateway, since I can not promote credit card check out in auctiva beyond 10 listings without faxing documents.
i have tried many ebay softwares over the years. I like auctiva. Free is the best price
I have to faxed merchant account info to eBay. I got a few accounts approved they they closed them all at once. I think they linked me through the faxing.
I currently put a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ email on the paypal line and individually invoice each customer via ccnow.
I am still looking for a better way an automated way and I am looking forward to the guide.

The ⊗⊗⊗⊗ email thing still works, but as soon as the payment is accepted, if it is over $200 it will now be limited.

So using ⊗⊗⊗⊗ email and then merchant account will work up until 10 items, and then eBay requires a fax?
If thats the case, then it isn't so bad then.

Aspkin--Not for me, I just keep that addy in there... I continue to send them ccnow invoices, 20,30. 100 listings doesnt matter....
The system thinks youre accepting ppal.. does a complete BY pass.

I just set up a auctiva account to be linked with a Authorize.net gateway/merchant account. I entered all the correct information from the gateway into the auctiva checkout options page. I ran a test by buying something from myself from a different eBay account that i have and i selected "pay now" button from eBay and it brought me to auctivas checkout section to fill in my payment info but when i go to submit payment i get this message This account has not been given the permission(s) required for this request.
i tried 2 different credit cards thinking it might of been them but i get the same response.
what might be the issue here? Answering this question may also help with this topic of this thread cuz whatever i am doing wrong will have to be documented
