Default MC010 call: stupid claim from ebay

I don't know if its true but the rep told me that they will be verifying all new accounts by having the new sellers call in.

I can't believe this. I was on hold for an hour and a half!

And after all that I did not pass the veriication. She wants me to mail some info

No matter what the eBay rep. told you, it's impossible for eBay to phone verify every new seller. Especially if you're on hold for 1 1/2 hours.

2nd time someone has said that they spoke with a rep and was told this. Really hope it isn't true.

imjustme - logically, eBay doesn't have the resources to personally verify EVERY SINGLE seller account.

But to be honest, I really don't think they give a **** if they make everyone wait 7+ hours to speak with a rep.

Stop mass listing on new accounts. That means spread out your 10 over the month.
Stop listing with buy it now also. Christmas is over, if you lost accounts, its a good time to make more and slow sell on them. I have a few I won't even hit 10 on. And I just lost 3 6 month old accounts in a week.slow... Friend.

The sad part is I was calling in at 5am pst, as soon as they were "supposed to open" but was not due to some emergency they were no available!

So, when I did get thru that is what the lady told me. They they would be doing it for every account. And I know they don't give a damn about making us wait because when I did get connected and told her how long I waited, she did not even say sorry for the wait.

It seems to me that the normal ebay calls go to india because they are nicer and will apologive for the wait but the trust and safety calls go to america and they don't give a damn about how long you been on hold.

They have no mercy for you.

I did not mass list, I listed on item.

I don't even qualify for buy it now...

It does not get any slower!

Wow eBay is laughable. I never had a problem with MC010. They usual lift the limits within 5 mins even if the questions I've answered are wrong.

I do have a few new accounts that I listed "high risk" items on and used BIN and they never got hit with MC010, accounts I made 4 days ago.
But yeah the reps I talked to were nice... but maybe that's rare.

Also a quick tip... speak to male reps... because women are not worth the gray hairs.

Read the discussions in the Subscriber forums on how to avoid MC010. I've never gotten an MC010 on new accounts unless I did something wrong. And that wrong is explained in the Subscriber section.

I had the exact same problem but all my information was made up. Just say "no" to every question and you are verified. Make sure to use white American names not Asian names because I used my brother's information and they asked what his intial interest rates, and loan deposits. yea eBay is racist.
