Help With A Buying Account

I have an old eBay account, still active, that is linked with a locked PayPal account. I would like to try to simply buy with this account since the info appears to be compromised.

Here is my situation; I bought an item on eBay with the account and attempted to create a new PayPal account on eBay by entering a Vanilla Visa to pay for the item. It gives me an error that the card is all ready in use on PayPal (bought it at the store two days ago). Then it just takes me to my new PayPal account and the only options it gives me are to add a bank account or apply for their Mastercard. I see no place to add a credit card to be able to make payments or use a vcc to get the account up and running. I really do not want to waste a bank account by adding it to a simple buying account.

Additionally, I am looking to try to buy products on eBay with prepaid cards. I know how to make a vcc work, but the fees are not as practical for buying. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to leave that old account and make a new ebay and pp with your real info just for buying. Then add your prepaid card to it.

The info on the account is real information of an associate of mine. Unfortunately, it is an older account Are you saying if I make a basic PayPal account (not Premier or Business) and just buy that they will not close it even if I have another PayPal account with the same info that is blocked? I was all ready using a new PayPal account. The new PayPal account I made only gave me the option to become verified or sign up for a credit card; is this because I signed up on eBay which has a linked blocked PayPal account? If I sign up for the PayPal account outside of eBay, will I then be able to add the prepaid card?

Correct, they will not suspend a buyer only account. Make a new ebay/pp, and you shouldn't have any problems adding the card.

Thank you for the help. I was thrown a bit of a curveball. I wanted to make sure I had my information in order before proceeding further.

Vanilla Visa was denied by PayPal. I received the same error that the card was all ready used on PayPal. The Vanilla Visa does not allow me to enter an address, just a zip code, so this could be the issue. I know since it is a buying account I could just get a Green Dot or WalMart Moneycard, but I'd rather avoid it if possible and stick with prepaid cards. Any additional help will be appreciated. Thank you.

If you already tried adding it to the first one then you can't use it on the new buyer set... Try removing it from the first one, then you may be able to..

I wish it was that simple. I've never added it to a PayPal; this was one of the original issues as it has never allowed me to use this card. I'll just try a few different things until I get something to go through.

So you never added the card, but it's telling you it's already been used on a pp account.. That doesn't make sense...

Possibly Vanilla Visa's don't work anymore, but still it wouldn't say it has been used on another pp if it hasn't...

That part is correct. Picked it up a night before I attempted to use it. I added the correct zip code for the account before trying to use it and it had $60 on it.

I just bought the Stealth Book and am still learning so I do not have any additional accounts that it could have accidently been used on. I have used the card since then online and at the store and it went through fine. I'll try to run it through again and post the error message.

The only thing "unique" about this card was that it was one that allowed me to add any amount between $20 - $200 I think. It was not the typical $50 or $100 card.

Nope nope nope

The error about the card all ready being in the PayPal system occurred during the first time attempting to buy an item on eBay by creating a new PayPal buying account. Fresh card straight from the drug store with a zip code registered. The same error occurred using the method you recommended. I did use the same card on both occasions, but if I did not have the error the first time I would have not needed to try a new account. PayPal did attempt to authorize the card as it shows up on the online statement, but it never went through. Lol, just a weird problem.
