Paypal transaction investigastion

I ordered an item off ebay the other day and the delivery address I added was overseas.

I got a message saying my PP account was limited till they heard from me, so I went into PP changed my password and security details as prompted and it says my account is now restored

When I click on the transaction in PP, it says the payment is under investigation.

I'm a bit worried as i'm using tor to connect to pp, and I'm thinking they delved deeper into my account and maybe realised this. What's the next best step?, shall I just cancel the transaction?.

I'm also thinking about a largish payment that's coming in soon, don't want my money to be stuck in there

If the payment is under investigation I don't think you can cancel it. You say the address you added was overseas. Was it in a different country than the PP account is set up in?

Yes I have a uk account and I was posting to another country

you CAN cancel it, if you like, it gives you the option on pp. It has nothing to do with you, it is to do with a trigger on the buyer, eg. newly made account, overseas, zero feedback are triggers, dont worry............

Don't forget - if the buyer's source was credit card, that only adds to the scrutiny.

I had this same problem today actually. But difference is i was buying a £300 item from ebay. I was using a friends account that i normally use often. But in the paypal message i did say please post to the following address: My address. Ive went and changed the password and now confirmed everything but the account is still limited and the transaction is still under investigation. So im not sure if i should be worried or not. Any ideas on why they are doing this would be helpful. Thanks in advance

Well neither myself nor the seller could cancel the transaction. The seller contacted me to tell me that I need to contact PP, there was no mention of this on my account.

Anyway, as soon as I phoned up it was removed. I will refrain from buying items on Ebay and sending overseas from now on, the hassle is not worth it

So i need to phone paypal to get this limit removed and cancel the transaction you think? Thanks

Yep just give them a call, say the order is a gift for someone of they ask.

Also when you use other addresses, it's probably best to delete them from you PP account. Last year I had a call from PP to ask me why I had so many addresses on my account, wasn't a problem, but might bring extra scrutiny

Ah ok cool thanks alot for your help. Ill just have to find another listing with the same item. Thanks :)
