IP addressing, is it really that important?
This is why I ask, assume I am an ISP and my IP is 127.0.0.1 and you are my clients... IP addressing of 127.0.0.2-254. Thats without SUPERNETING!!!!! Even in such a simplistic enviornment there are 253 possibilities (255 being a marker ofcourse) if ebay bans one ip, they ban all ips, such is a "gateway" and there could be thousands of IP's and legitimate accounts behind one IP.
As such it would be impossible for ebay to ban an ip address with their "algorithmic" bots without banning tens of thousands if not hurdreds of thousands of ebay accounts. My point: They cannot by ip alone ban 10/20 or even 100 accounts without putting themselves out of business via loss of revenue, or requiring such a large telecom network to confirm these accounts that their bottom line would be devastated and discourage investors/share holders.
Just a thought.
