Selling limits being lifted automatically, before 90 days, lately?

I have 2 accounts that had their selling limits lifted to at least 200 items, possibly more (haven't tried to list more than that in quantity). Both accounts are only around 60 days old, so they haven't reached the 90 days yet when the selling limit is supposed to be lifted. One has only 7 feedback from selling, the other only 11. About 2 weeks ago, both accounts were still limited to 10 items per 30 days.

Strange? :suspicious:

cardfelon 02-27-2011 09:52 AM

I have two accounts that are roughly 45 days old and in my seller dashboard it says I have no seller limits on quanties. I think this is a case by case basis.

HurricaneHuntr 02-27-2011 10:59 AM

Some of the ones i was talking about that were very old, just got bumped to 20/800 after 90 days. I'm not looking to drive a Bentley. So 20/800 is fine for me when i have a lot of accounts.. and a few unlimited

mosguy 02-27-2011 11:39 AM

They have changed the limit from 10 to 100 items for new accounts and older accounts has much higher limits

so it means the limit is back to normal before Oct 1st

morningwood 03-01-2011 09:05 AM

My 1 month old account with 25 FB still has 10 but my 3+ month with 100 FB only got bumped to 30 items. I guess its cause im selling VERO. Did they really stop the limits for new accounts mosguy? The one interesting thing about the 3+ month account is that the paypal is unverified but the spending limit raised automatically. I usually verify when I reach the 2k limit but for some reason mine raised to 10k spending limit without verifying!!! Never had that happen. Weird.

imjustme 03-01-2011 10:15 AM

I started selling 2 days ago on an account that is only a bit over 1 month old. Was able to list 40 items (haven't tried more) without hitting any selling limit. The account has 0 feedback, nothing sold, nothing bought.

Seems like eBay finally noticed that limiting sellers to 10 items per month causes them to lose money in final value fees.

Were you based on eb ay.com imjustme?

Yes, on ebay.com . I just tried another new account, only barely over a month old, same thing. No selling limit. And the ones I listed 2 days ago on the other account are still up, not taken down for verification nothing.

jbluntz 03-01-2011 05:55 PM

Yeah I've been checking the accounts I've been making under "all selling activity" and no longer do they have the limits listed like before. Looks like the good old days of ebay are back, I'm gonna have fun.

holymoly 03-01-2011 08:06 PM

I wonder if eBay is just throwing in some curveballs to screw with us at the bat.

Sir,

Do you limit your total sales of the new account, which was a bit over 1 month, to under $500 for this month ? I will list on an account like yours , so how much do you think is a safe total sales limit ?

Thank you in advance sir !
Any other response is highly appreciated !

tony143 03-02-2011 03:21 AM

I just opened a new ebay account and my limits were 10 or $2000.00 a month

nameisyou 03-02-2011 04:01 AM

Account is about 45 days old from first sell (they don't count when open) and I have played around with it to see what's up since it's a stealfy anyway here is something worth noting:

If you list items as BUY-NOW then then 10/500 kicks in rather quickly ON PRICE PERIOD but if you do a straight up auction format only, I listed 14 items and revised each of them daily on a 3-day auction sold 4 of the items for $375 and when I went back to my auction to relist 2 items that where a BUY-NOW at $150 each baam it only allow me to list one and told me I hit the limit.. funny it did not say which limit so I waited 4 days until the other items where sold and no pending listings and I relisted 3 more items at a BUY-NOW pushing the $300 range and I got a warning about the limit but I was able to list them anyway but could not list anything else.

All this under 30 days so I removed (canceled all auction) all items and waited 4 days then listed the same 3 items in an AUCTION format only with low starting prices and all 3 are running now and will sell for way over.

So I decided to try and list a BUY-NOW item that would kick the dollar side of the counter over and BINGO it did I then got the confirm your identity page..

Go figure these ebag hags

imjustme 03-02-2011 04:18 AM

I only list as Buy-It-Now and didn't get any limits, as I wrote above. Maybe it depends if your first few items are VERO or not.

Daga 03-02-2011 01:06 PM

I am about to list my first stuff after the suspension of my old accounts and I am going to go with some used stuff from the home before going all out with things I sell normally, I think its better to be safe than sorry :-)

Hercules 03-02-2011 02:02 PM

I opened up 6 new ones, ten listings (auctions) on each. At the end of the week I went to clean up things and there are no notices for piece counts to stay under like at the beginning.
So the limit amount is on the active or sold page right?

bansheezone 03-02-2011 09:27 PM

Limits starting kicking in on eBay motors. I have one account over 45 days old that when I first started I sold $500.00 and listed more then 10 with nothing being counted on that limits chart in my Ebay, now I tried to list 10 auctions tonight after not using it for at least 4 weeks and I get a limit of 10 auctions or $500.00

I have another account opened on the same time as the other one and listed well over 5000.00 in 30days, now today its showing I sold a item, and have 7 left to list? WTF strange. I guess more accounts are needed, and this is random.

Yep, March 1st was the firsr day Motors was affected by the limits on my accounts too. Ebay is tweeking it's limits rules.

jackie83826 03-03-2011 12:37 AM

my limits got lifted up to 100 items for 30 days period now.

yotano211 03-03-2011 04:10 AM

I have 2 main accounts, one is about 2 months old and limited to 100 items or $5k per month. The other account too. The 1st account has been with those limits since I opened it 2 months ago. I have hit the limit of $5k on that account in the 2nd month, cuz I needed the money.

The 2nd is about 2 weeks old now with the same limits. I will open more accounts and sell slowly to big them up over some months. I think 7 is the magic number.

Maybe the limits change due to the country the person is from or the IP address?

Daga 03-03-2011 11:29 AM

I listed my first 4 items yesterday and am limited to 10 items $500 limit already. I hope the other accounts don't fall under that rule

bansheezone 03-03-2011 12:57 PM

Its helping us build accounts if you really think about, slow is the way to go. Its my guess maybe these selluing limites are a replacement for id verification, I have not been hit with it in a long time.

Ace717 03-03-2011 01:13 PM

I'm curious to know the ebay account status for all you people getting these limits lifted early.
For example, are the ebay accounts-
1 - No phone verification or ID verification at all
2 - Just the "none of the above" phone call and passed with no issues.
3 - Both the phone call and faxed in ID and other docs and passed both.

I would imagine most of these accounts getting lifted early probably went through the fax docs process? Or am I wrong? I've been hit with the "fax docs" suspension but I haven't followed through with it yet. All of my stealths are weak, just simple phone verified "none of the above" accounts. IMO, that's not a strong account. Or am I wrong? I wish I knew how to be a little more creative with docs *cough* pm anyone?

imjustme 03-03-2011 06:04 PM

I never get hit with anything. Not with the documents, not with the questions, not with the MC010, not with phone verification, nothing.

jerry 03-03-2011 09:34 PM

Imjustme, are you selling any items that are on ebay's list for limiting account sales such as electronics?

Ace717 03-03-2011 11:10 PM

Imjustme toss some eBay swag my way. Thnx

Knock on wood.

So far I have not had any of these myself either.

But I am not selling questionable item to draw flags either.

rps4usc 03-04-2011 09:31 PM

Has anyone called ebay to have the limits lifted and been turned down?? If so, on what basis?

goldmedalwholesale 03-05-2011 12:07 AM

I listed an item on ebay. I looked up the item on the search engine it was there. Then 5 minutes later I looked it up again and my item is NOT there.

I check my active listing and it still shows as active. Is there any reason why my listing would show then after 5 minutes it doesnt show? Please help thanks!

The item is a vero item but I changed the name of the title to confuse the index.

That just has to do with listing new items. You are fine. Takes a few hours to appear permanently.

goldmedalwholesale 03-05-2011 12:25 AM

phew ok I just thought it was strange that it went up then it got removed. Thanks again!

HurricaneHuntr 03-05-2011 07:33 PM

Still 10/500 on a lot of my accounts made in the last 60 days. I haven't made any in a few weeks, since i've been doing ok lately with not getting in trouble...Knock on wood. heh

But, i do have a bank account i never use, i probably should make an account for it since i got 50$ just sitting in it heh

bork_bork 03-05-2011 11:37 PM

I just started another account I have 10-$2000 limit.

WasTopRatedThenBanned 03-06-2011 12:42 AM

Guys,

it is way to easy to just call them and have the limit raised.

Works every time when i do it....on stealth information.

Tell them you sell on Amazon and want to expand on to ebay. Bam lifted.

What do they ask? Just the typical questions (multi choice like the mc010 call) or something different?

I am trying to prepare to do the same on my accounts, but want to know what to expect.

LoopHole 03-06-2011 01:56 PM

I have 16 100% positive fb and i still have a limit of 10 and $500.:mad2:

bansheezone 03-12-2012 01:42 PM

"Selling limits naturally grow higher as you get more feedback"

I am not seeing the limits get raised anymore naturally....seem the new trend for me at least anyone else gettng stuck at 10/1000 after 90 days?

imjustme 03-12-2012 01:56 PM

It seems to depend on feedback and "randomness". I recently had an account raised to at least 1000 items listed (possibly more) without receiving any feedback at all. eBay can't possibly expect every single account to send in identification documents to have the limits lifted, it's got to be automatically.
