Run thro' procedures for verifying paypal in UK
 

I just tried this today and I've not had ANY luck with verifying a PP account with a VCC....

Opened a new p ay pa l [PP] premier account
Clicked on Profile>Add or remove card
I put in the VCC number / exp date and CVV2
PP accepted the card and took £0.97 [$1] from my VCC

Now when i go to Profile>Add or remove card the only options I have are:
Edit | Remove | Complete Verification

When I click on Complete Verification, it tells me to add a bank.

Am I doing something wrong here?

This is UK based pa yp al? But after PP charged your VCC - does you account say Status Verified above the transaction history box?

They didn't send me an EXPUSE and theres nowhere for me to add an EXPUSE number on ppal either

Weird so it did not verify your account - why would they charge 0.97? I dont follow how the UK works - maybe the bank is abso-fugging-lutely needed?

Yes you's have it mixed up.

To get VERIFED status on paypal you add a bank, paypal will send the two small deposits (eg. 0.17 & 0.03) Once these hit the bank you check your statment, and input these in paypal boooom VERIFIED

Then to get CONFIRMED you need to add VCC and LINK AND CONFIRM card. This will send the 4-DIGIT EXPUSE code which will confirm your address etc.

VERIFIED & CONFIRMED is what you are aiming for, but now since you will also need to fax documents the whole process is alot longer. good luck

To anyone still confused or wanting more information. I really recommend you go to the PayPal Help Centre. It talks all about the verification and confirmation processes in more detail.

Simple really but nobody ever seems to use the eBay and PayPal help resources :D

So if you get verified and confirmed you won't have to send in documents?

^ PP can/will still ask for documents even if your account is verified and confirmed.

Yep Shady is right...being verified and confirmed doesnt stop this.

however it may lower your chances of being asked for them..

In my experience whether they ask depends on the type of product your selling such as designer items they would ask you for documents much sooner than selling something that is non-vero for example...also the volume in which you sell seems to be a big factor.

If one needs a bank account to be verified, how are you selling UK seller accounts which are fully verified and ready to sell on, but dont have a bank account attached to them?

As far as i can tell hes selling EBAY accounts, not paypals. Ebay dose not require a bank

im selling ebay & paypal accounts now.

you can start selling on the accounts...and receiving money into the paypal accounts...but a bank account will need to be attached to withdraw the money from the paypal account.

I just wana be able to sell on it, dont matter if its verified/unverified/confirmed blah blah

so what am i doing wrong here

Ive been told that the method of creating seller stealth accounts, outlined below, doesn't work anymore. Could anyone confirm this please?


1) verify an ebay seller account with phone number and a vcc
2) attach a vcc and confirm to a pp account
3) link the two

sell up to a limit of ~£650

might be a silly question as i havent been active on the forum for a while...if you have a new bank account that came with a debit card, why not use the debit card for the EXPUSE rather than a VVC?

Also about this faxing documents, havent heard of this before (may be due to me not keeping up to date with things:doh:) a link or info would be a great help.

If stealthing and using a different address, the debit card that comes with the bank account will not work for expuse purposes as the AVS will not match up.

Faxing documents has been standard for 6+? months if PayPal cannot get a match for you on the Public electoral register...

ahh thanks for clearing things up, just me being stupid, okay guys how about this, i have just bough the house next door and i know they havent been using ebay as they are a old couple that have been there for years.

I want to try and keep my new account i make as legit as poss, so now i have a new address to play with my question can i use my real name with this address even though it is next door to my current address which is black listed with feebay.The only thing different is the door number, postcode street etc is still same :spy:

I have just got a new bank account so dont want to mess this up.

Personally, I would use a new name. Same name different address might be enough to get manually reviewed...one similarity, whether it's items sold, listing style, pictures etc, and you'll be toast.

New name, DOB etc, should be good. Nowadays it's the address that's the key. Plus you've got access to the stealth address for returns and anything they decide to send you!

yea sounds like a plan i was going for any way but just wanted more input thanks! ebay is not much of a probplem its paypal that always seem to be the issue...:juggle:

Just a quick question. Can you set up the bank with the 2 deposits but not set up the DD? I have set a few stealths up but always with the DD. I only spend the money from payments when I buy off eb anyway. I only need the withdraw and not top up pp

You can cancel the DD at your bank, but then PayPal will remove the bank account totally and you won't be able to withdraw.

I personally have no problem with DD's being set up. If PayPal take a penny that I haven't agreed to a 15 minute visit to your branch and they'll reverse it under the DD Guarantee.
