Heres my input i have two accounts i accidentaly logged onto at the same computer -- got linked and then bam! $500 and 51 item listing limit (per month) for Category of gift cards and coupons (hence the higher item listing limit.. 50+ is a lot)

now i just made a new acct and so far only 1 feedback and i got hit with the $1000 and 7 item limit
for pet supplies btw

so what it does seem what category your starting in effects the limits. I am going to play with this a bit.

Guys I heard some strange things and wanted to share.As we know these selling limits has been started newestly.I heard from some guy that reason of these limits coming from complaints of powerseller to ebay.Is it possible :)

I created a new account and it started with a 100 item 5k limit. I did link ebay to paypal. all new accounts created the same time. Legit address (UPS Store po box). I believe this limit was set before I ever listed a single item.

i just started to sell today. opened the account 3 weeks ago. listed in jewelry (gold) and got hit with 10/1000 limit.

Im still a little shocked about why Im not getting the limits. Ive opened 3 seperate accounts 2011 and havent seen limits. I only list around 40 items a month on each account, but have never been limited. Do they send an email when there is a limit?

No - you can see your limits by hovering over Sell button on left hand column apparently.
