Identity verification -

As soon as i listed the first few items on my stealth account, Ebay removed them and suspended the account. Now they are asking me to fax ID and other documents. Can anyone help me?

GrannyT 06-05-2011 10:01 AM

Why did they remove them and what were you selling?

Not enough info to pass comment
:pop2:

squirmy 06-05-2011 10:03 AM

Baby shoes, they said they removed them because all new sellers have to verify their identity before selling.

GrannyT 06-05-2011 10:23 AM

Hmm - not heard of that one before. Do you have PP linked to your account? In the UK you have to and that's how they verify who you are - by your financials. You need some advise from someone who is used to the US system. Sorry I can't help - but someone will be along shortly:yar:

squirmy 06-05-2011 10:55 AM

Yes, I do.

GrannyT 06-05-2011 11:06 AM

Well normally, if you have PP and EB combined you only need to add CC, I'm lost as to why they are asking for id. Did you use a VCC or a real one? I used a vcc on one account and they asked me for id.

Is this a stealth account or your own?

This seems to happen a lot in the US. I think their is a threads about it.

newtools 06-05-2011 03:42 PM

yep id verification happens allot - about 50% of the time. its random, they just want to know what to know who u are.

Get creative! thats ALL i can say.. if u have questions let me know :suspicious:

I've heard they can be photoshopped, but I don't know the first thing about it.

Read newtools post again, "if u have questions let me know", contact him and see if he has any more info on the subject.

Best to contact people in the US for help with US docs imo.

Sounds like you got an MC010 on that 1st listing. ebay bots might have perceived the baby shoes as risky.

Usually the reply is supply the documents. Read the thread for the help.

Feel free to pm me if you want:pop2:

I think people need to get used to the idea that this is going to be pretty much the norm.

Soon someone will have seller accounts available to purchase that have already been ID verified... And I would like first dibs on that action... =}

i think that we should ver firstly before listing items.

rsot 06-06-2011 10:03 AM

@Original poster, did you sell with zero feedback as in selling right away?

squirmy 06-06-2011 10:07 AM

yes, I did.

rsot 06-06-2011 10:21 AM

That's a huge flag regardless of what you sell from my experience.

Well thats what I'm trying to do :) Just waiting for a yes from the Admin on here. Don't think I can do USA accounts though...hard for me to get hands on IDs.

is that ok if it is 30 days old with zero fb?
How can i list my item soon?

rsot 06-06-2011 01:58 PM

My own preference is to build up some buying feedback and then sell. 30 days old is a good number. If you are in experimentation mode, make a few accounts and try different styles. I just did one with 2 week lifetime but purchased few things before.

Hmmmmm, I think I know what you are thinking of doing, don't do it ;)

Good luck with your adventures though!
