Default Does it matter if bank account is in a different sex

Kinda of a strange question this one, i have set up a few stealths with success so far, i have another pp account to get verified but i have no more bank accounts so can i use the wifes bank account? its never been used with either pp or eb, would it matter if the pp is in a guys name and the bank in a womens name? i'm guessing it wont but just wondered if any one has done it like this with success? its a Natwest current account, cheers

it would depend on the bank. PP can not see the name on the account. if your bank will accept deposits in different people's names then it should be fine. Also if the last name is the same I would guess it would be fine as well. Wouldn't hurt to call the bank (have her call the bank) and notify them that she will be receiving deposits in your name and ask if it will cause any problems.

No. Use only YOUR bank accounts. Keep your stealth activities to yourself and do not involve others. My advice.

If you just want verified PayPal accounts then use saving accounts. Once you have confirmed it by the two small deposits, it will remain verified even if the saving account eventually gets removed by PayPal.

Though, some saving accounts will sometimes not even get to the 'verified' status before PayPal actually removes them. But to be honest, not much effort in opening a PayPal account and savings account and testing yourself.

The other option, the one I follow mostly, is using basic current accounts.

Saving accounts can sometimes bring hassle upon you and your accounts, whereas current accounts are fine with direct debits.

Hi all, the pp has all ready been verified with a natwest savings account but the bank account was removed straight away by pp, i did get it verified before they removed it tho, i am selling on it at the moment but i need a bank account on it to withdraw the money to, i have run out of accounts of my own to use so thought i would add the wifes...the account was only set up for another stealth but i never got round to setting it up so i need it for this one if poss, it will not be used for anything else as we keep all the stealths seperate from our own everday accounts

^ Add the NatWest savings account to the PayPal account again but do not confirm it. You will be able to withdraw to it.

Ok no problem, you have two options.

Option 1: Add the same savings account that has been removed by PayPal. To do this, you would have to contact PayPal and they WILL enable it for you to try agiain, Very easy.

Option 2: Even easier, without having to contact PayPal, is to add a savings account that has not already been used on a PayPal.

That is it. Just remember that because you are already 'Verified', their is no need to confirm the bank account to withdraw.

Hi Shady I added a bank and they said they where sending the deposits anyway. I didn't click to confirm the account. See the details below. Do you mean not to put the two figures in to confirm when they arrive and just withdraw to it?

Dear ****** ******,

Now that you've added your ****** bank account x-xx** to Pp, please complete our confirmation process. We ask you to do this for security reasons, in order to verify that you are the owner of this bank account.

Once your details are confirmed, you'll be able to make Pp payments directly from your bank account through direct debit as well as withdraw money from your Pp account balance to your bank account.

Please confirm your bank account as follows:

We recently deposited two small amounts in your bank account, which we need you to confirm.
Log in to your Pp account at www.pp.co.uk
In your Account Overview go to the "To Do" box.
Select the "Complete bank setup" link and follow the instructions.

This is POOR ADVICE . Why tell users to attach a bank account that is going to get flagged because it will not work in the 1st place. Why tell them to have a go? The correct advice is there. Tell them the the better way from the get -go.

Fed up with this one. Even in the UK, even with bad credit, there are bank accounts that are suitable for users. SInce 2007, when the forum started, UK paypal has alsways preferred current accounts. users who tried the variations has had problems.
Users who hit & run with bank accounts, paypal accounts can do it if they so wish. LONG TERM stealthers should not
Bah

Getting this repeated all over the UK part of the forum is going to cost a user an account. the advice is not a long term working solution.

OK, Coldcotes, this is one of my favourite links. It contains a good list of UK basic current accounts. They are fun and solid for PayPal!

Well the only issue I see is what if eBay requires you to call them to verify who you are or you need to contact eBay for any reason? They have on file that you are a woman and you call up with a deep voice...
